Continuous advertisement bar running on Pogo home page and all Pogo games.

★★★ Newbie

Why is this happening and when is it going to stop ? This banner takes up about two inches of the top of the game screen and is very distracting. It is of no use to me, even if I wanted it as all of the businesses appear to be American and I am in Canada.

Those ads are not coming from Pogo,  it's possible that you have Adware, or Malware on your computer.

Here's a  link to a detailed article in Pogo News which you should read, it has troubleshooting steps to resolve this:

Below are links to a couple of Pogo Forums post that have additional information that might be helpful:

You will  need to be signed into Pogo to access the above referenced links.

You should also run a full scan using your anti-virus software regularly.

For future reference, it's standard practice for companies to include any variety of other unneeded "free" programs such as toolbars and "deal" programs along with what you expected in the (recommended) full download installs, for example,Java, Flash and Browsers updates and even anti-virus programs carry such add-ons. In order to avoid downloading these additional add-ons, always choose the custom install and uncheck the additional content.
