LAN problems

I am having issues trying to create a LAN with my 2 pcs. I can create a server but the other pc does not find the server even knowing that both pcs are on the same network. I have patched both games to the latest patches so I can play online.

first get static IP on your computer that is running the server  see this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYgWaxEEQGE

now open the Ports on your router and firewall on that static ip you just made

here is  the port list  for bf1942

TCP Ports: 28900 (GameSpy TCP List), 14667 (BlackBagOps remote server manager), 4711 (BF1942's remote console)
UDP ports: 14567, 14690 (All-Seeing Eye), 23000-23009, 27900 (Gamespy heartbeat)

if you still cant host a server after all this  ?

it can be a problem in ipv4 and pv6 protocol bf1942 was made in a time no 1 used ipv6  so disable ipv6
