adding an existing teen account to paren

How do I add my childrens' teen existing accounts to my account under Family on the EA app?

It keeps telling me that I can't.

It keeps saying:

Something went wrong

We were unable to add the teen to your Family.

Please try again.

I have tried my son's email address and my daughter's email address and I have tried both Edge and Chrome.
