Origin failed to update again, now it won't reinstall

I got error 7:0 when Origin tried its automatic update.  As per usual (which is bad enough as it is), it resulted in Origin no longer being on my system so I can't re-run and re-update, leaving me to run the installer program.

This normally (disturbing that it's valid to say "normally" in this context) goes smoothly, but today it's complaining and saying it needs an internet connection.  I'm on the internet now (rather necessary for the forums) and all other internet applications are running fine.  I'm using the same firewall and AV software as yesterday, but it's still failing.  I've tried disabling Kaspersky and Malwarebytes with no effect.  I've tried running the installer as administrator, I've tried rebooting.  These haven't helped.

Origin was working fine yesterday, I was playing games without issue.

Any ideas what I can try
