Origin constantly re-send security e-mail and 'forgets' password.

★★★★★ Newbie

So, I have two annoyances really.

The first, and less of the two, is that Origin keeps on 'forgetting' my password; forcing me to re-enter it and log in every time my computer boots.  I understand that, with some people, passwords containing special characters (such as !@#$% etc) cause similar issues; but I recently changed my password to omit said characters and am still having the issue.

The second, and far more annoying issue is that Origin has send a security code (and consequently asks for it) to my e-mail dozens of times over the course of the past two months.  This coincides with me moving about two months ago as well...

While I understand that my IP / etc has changed and so verifying that 'this is my computer and account' is perfectly acceptable... It has gotten rather annoying that I have to go log into my e-mail, pull up the security code, and enter it into Origin just about every day or so.

And yes, I'm sure I'm ticking the 'remember this computer' box when I input the code.

Just about the only thing I haven't tries it unticking it...

Hmmm...

Any ideas?

Re: Origin constantly re-send security e-mail and 'forgets' password.

No ideas, but I experienced the problem of passwords with special characters. I changed my password to include special characters about a week ago. I played Mass Effect 3 multiplayer daily for a week.  No problem.  Then today, Origin says invalid email/password. I reset my password twice to a password with special characters, and then on the third try I decided to use only letters and numbers.  That worked.  Now I was able to login again.

On pages that allow customer to change their password, it would be great if Origin and EA would indicate what is allowed and not allowed in passwords.

I've also been having this problem.  I suspect it is because I have two Origin accounts, so that when I switch from one game to another the other Origin a/c is being activated by the wrong password.

The problem is the requirement of games to login to Origin when starting up.  You need to logout of one Origin a/c then login to the other to play different games.

I have two a/cs because I had forgotten the password on one and had deleted a corrupted email address years ago.
