no ammo for alien gun

Has anyone found the to why the premium bought Ray gun does not generate the promised every 8hr ammo? I should note that the Ray gun is in a demolished state as result of a recent quest.

If you have the demolished one, you should also have one now in your inventory that is whole. Bring that one out and place it. That is the one that earns ammo every eight hours.
