Campaign saved data including progress, unlocks and achievements has been erased. (PS4).

Hi. I completed Battlefield 4 on PS4 on hard mode in January. After completing it I started on the multiplayer and haven't played the campaign since. However 2 days ago PSN was down so I selected campaign mode instead of multiplayer, doing so automatically started a new campaign with no option to restore my previous saved progress. Now all my progress, weapon unlocks and achievements such as for completing the various levels has all been erased. I have tried restoring saved data in online storage in my PS4s settings but it simply reads there is no saved data. What has caused the data to be erased and is there a way to restore it? Thank you for any help.
