BF4 Crashes with MSVCR.dll error [ Edited ]

Hi,

Playing BF4 as single player in campaign. In the second to last module the program freezes and then crashes, and the following error message is generated.

I have replaced MSVCR.dll in c:/windows/syswow64 and in the installed program files as well with no success

Download and install this Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package and you should be good to go: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632

Hi Barry,

I followed the link you provided and downloaded and "installed" the package. However I received an error message advising that I already have a later version in place and the installation could not proceed.

Do you think it is this later version that is putting a spanner in the works, and if so how do I uninstall it to allow the earlier version to take its place?

Hello - is there anyone alive out there or looking at this forum?  Barry's solution didn't work - I've installed the latest C++ redistributable and the latest version of punk buster - no luck.

Anyone have any ideas?????

Try and update all this and save the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package for last, see if it will work this way. Edit... after you update reboot PC then try repair game and then test BF4

Go to Punk Buster site
Download PB then extract files to your desktop then open Punk Buster folder. Click on the PB setup and it will open.
Add your BF4 game to punk buster its at the top of Punk Buster.
Then update punk buster again at the top of Punk Buster.

I respond this because some people still have this problem, the solution is to install c++ redistributable 2013, 2012 doesn't work and the game comes with 2012
