Browser Plugin

I have downloaded the update for the plugin to play Battlefield 3 but no matter what I do the browser doesnt actually install. It dowloads just fine and when I open the file and run it, it starts a progress bar for installation. However, the plugin doesnt actually get installed and I am unable to play.
