It’s an alias. It isn’t taking up any room on your Mac. It is pointing to the Electronic Arts folder on the external. Please re-read the instructions and it will help clarify Standard smile

Ohhhh ok! Another thing lol when trying to open my game I get the unable to start pop up because of my cc, I’ve had this issue before so should I just delete anything that pops up, because my drive is formatted as extended (journaled)

It shouldn’t happen if the external drive is properly formatted and has full permissions in System Preferences.

I only gave permission once when I was doing the first command. How do I give more permission to the drive?

System Preferences. But honestly, all the instructions you need are in the article you used.

Champion

Do you have to back up all your Sims files to iCloud? I use Dropbox instead, but that gives me the option to have some files/folders just locally. I’d check what settings options iCloud has.

Actually, I usually pause file syncing entirely before opening Sims, as it seems to improve the lag.

@Chococookie2007

You could use an external drive and create a symlink to store the Sims 4 folder on it https://bluebellflora.com/saving-your-sims-4-folder-to-an-external-drive/

No Directory Error on Terminal for Symlink

★ Novice

So I am trying to create a symlink to my external drive which I have done numerous times before. This time I am getting an error message stating No directory. I have given terminal and origin full disk access. My external drive and origin permissions are set correctly. I am only have an issue with the MV code. I will attach pictures also.

Any suggestions or help would be helpful

@tfrazer89

Can you please copy/paste the command you’re putting into Terminal here.
