i signed up with steam and it still wont connect, so i cant sign up to spore

So i signed up with steam, linked my accounts and when i go on spore it says 'you are offline, connect ect ect ect' not sure whats going on

@Somguy333 The Spore online servers only work for the Origin version of the game. The servers do not support Steam.
