Mouse input problems

I recently decided to try and replay Spore, and everything was going smoothly up until I tried to play the game. The game does not register any mouse clicks, and won't let me do anything inside the game. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, a different mouse, but nothing works. Is there any fix to this?

Go to  %APPDATA%\SPORE\Preferences\   folder and delete the configuration file (Preferences.prop) .

Then try to start it.
