Transferring saved files from Sims 4 base game to Sims 4 Deluxe Edition

[ Edited ]
★ Novice

Hey guys!

I was playing the sims 4 base game for months but then after a month various crashes occur on my game. It freezes for a short time and then crashes to the desktop whenever I save and even on the loading screen. I'm sick of it. I reinstalled my game but didn't work instead, it got worse! It freezes all the time and crashes to the desktop. My laptop has even reached the minimum requirements of the game.

So I bought the sims 4 get to work and install it to see if it'll fix my game. And so that happened, it fixed my game, I was able to play my game with one expansion pack for a month (?). But then after that crashes occur again. It crashes whenever I travel and on the loading screen but it does not crash whenever I save. I tried everything to fix it, deleting the households that are "not in the world" or "not played." I also deleted cache files and files in the tray folder. I reinstalled it but didn't work at all.

I have ANOTHER sims 4 DVD installer the DELUXE EDITION that has 2 expansion packs, 3 game packs, and 7 stuff packs. So I was thinking if I could install that one. If I was able to install the deluxe edition (which is from another DVD) is it possible to TRANSFER all my saves and progress to the other? Even though they are different but still both from sims 4 series.

Has anyone already tried this? ---> Transferring all saves and progress from the base game w/ get to work to the sims 4 deluxe edition? I don't want to start all over again and repeat all what I've done in my game. T_T T_T

Pls help T_T

Re: Transferring saved files from Sims 4 base game to Sims 4 Deluxe Edition

The deluxe version is the same version as the normal version, only with some extra's.

It won't fix the crashes... If you want to move your save files you can with a back up:

http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/backups/

Could you post a DxDiag?
Please follow this how to on how to gather your DxDiag.
You can post the DxDiag by attaching it to your next reply.
Don't paste it directly into your answer, because that won't fit.

Do you have any mods or CC (custom content)? Try taking that out.
See this for more information: [PLEASE READ] Usage of Mods and Custom Content

I don't have CCs or Mods in my game. So if saved games aren't possible to be transferred to the deluxe edition, how about the sims? Can I transfer my sims in that they just have to be saved in the library?

Re: Transferring saved files from Sims 4 base game to Sims 4 Deluxe Edition

Make sure to run the game on the 32 bit version. https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/when-to-use-the-sims-4-64-bit-or-32-bit-version/

Deluxe or normal edition on the same system will give you access to your saves either way.

Re: Transferring saved files from Sims 4 base game to Sims 4 Deluxe Edition

★ Novice

So I get it. My game runs on a 32-bit processor. My game only crashes to one particular 50x50 lot where I built a large house with lots of items in it, also with plenty of plants. My game lags everytime I enter to that lot. After saving the game I go to manage worlds and that is when the game crashes. In my case, do I need a 64-bit processor because I'm playing on a heavily populated lot? Or to prevent crashes, I just need to delete some items on the lot for it to run properly. Standard smile)

Try updating your OS to the 64-bit version.
