Sims Can't Harvest or Open Time Capsules

I have obtained a bunch of time capsules and attempted to do gardening with a sim house hold. However, when I attempt to open a time capsule or harvest, the action gets immediately cancelled, and my sim T poses for half a second before returning to the idle animation. I'm not sure what's going on, and I do need help. I tried googling this and I wound up with either results for a Sims 3 bug involving a mod named "Overwatch", or something else unrelated.

Are you using any mods ? If so, try removing them
