Hey all,

 

I ve been playing VR for years now and enjoy it a lot.

The title of the topic is pretty much what it s all about.

 

Here are my thoughts on the subject:

 

 

- an option to completely disable anti aliasing. (YES! most of VR players don't use AA and rely more on super sampling to get better result than AA and a crispier image. Plus anti aliasing off would spare some ressources for SS.)

 

- The possibility to set cpu affinity/priotity for the game. (Higher priotity means less stuttering and better performance because of less interuptions for the cpu. Affinity let u avoid the game and VR software to use the same cores, here again less stuttering.)

 

-DLSS VR ! (which probably be awsome)

 

- probably a bit of optimizing the game too. (My game is smooth and then for a few seconds stutters like crazy, then back to normal. The exact same situation can be smooth or stuttery. )

 

Those are my main concerns.

I d like to know what u guys think about those points, and if u have other ideas on how to improve VR performance/quality for the game ?

 

 

I personnaly love the game, so that s why I d love to see it getting better for all VR players.

So.... what are your thoughts?

It would be nice if Squadrons natively supported OpenXR without having to rely on Steam VR. That alone could improve performance.

Of course, you're right.

But I gotta say, I play a lot of VR games through steamvr, without having the same issues I encounter in SW Squadrons.

Got to agree with you there. Would love it if VR in this game could be improved further. 
Another thing I'd really like is to be able to move around the hangar in VR to really look around the ship and soak in the atmosphere.

@NightsEye Yup. When I'm waiting for a ranked match I always go into the 'inspect' mode and just stan my B-wing (or sometimes the Reaper cockpit). It'd be nice to be able to walk around more.

Also, the lack of astromech variety...

Indeed, that would be awsome.

However Motive has said that there would be no further addition to the game.

But.... who knows ^^

 

A few more love added to what's already in game, regarding its VR part, would be very nice.

It would probably be possible with almost no effort for things like a no AA option.

Any other ideas on the subject ?

 

I would add something here, and it applies for pancakes and VR.

 

Some of the graphic settings are bound together.

Maybe a more detailed graphic settings with all settings split instead of bound together would make fine tunning more precise ?

We would be the one to decide what s on and what s off.

 

I m no Dev abviously, but it doesn't seem unreasonable nor too tough to put up.

 

what do you think?

Hey there and thx for the answer.

But if I may ask: who exactly are you passing the infos to?

Is there still anyone working on the game?

I thought EA stated there wouldn't be any further support for the game?

Is your answer impliying we can expect a patch at some point?

Or is this some kind of auto answer?

 

ps: I love this game and seeing it patched again would make my day/year.

I am not playing anymore ATM because of exploits (mainly pinballing issue), and a few other issues as reported in this forum.
