"just as frustrating for EA as it is for you"

What do I do when my Origin client shows a blank screen upon login or installation?
Note: please make sure that the QtWebEngineProcess.exe is not disabled or blocked by your anti-virus - this is an integral part of the Origin client and this process not being able to run will result in a blank screen. Programs that could effect this could be an anti-virus, anti-malware, add-blocker etc.
It can also help to clear the Origin cache and run as administrator.

I had that problem for two weeks and today I managed to fix it while trying to fix something else.
My PC had a virus which made CMD window pop up and close suddenly every minute and it was annoying as hell.
So I tried to run some antivirus programs. I realized there was something blocking my PC to run or download any antivirus program.
After trying to fix this for four and half hours I managed to fix it. I also tried Origin Setup and it worked too.
So, whatever was blocking antivirus programs was also blocking Origin setup.
Here is what i did:
I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to another PC (I wasn't able to download it to my PC because of the virus), and copied the downloaded exe file to my external hard drive.
I booted my PC on Safe Mode, ran Malwarebytes exe from my external hard drive, after setup Malwarebytes worked properly on Safe Mode.
Scanned my PC and found poopload of problems.
After scan Malwarebytes deleted the infected files and rebooted my PC.
Don't forget to run the scan in safe mode.
Maybe you don't have the same virus but give it a shot, it worked for me.
Everything worked properly after that, including Origin.
Origin setup ran properly, I signed in to origin and origin successfully verified all game files.
I can't tell you how happy I am right now.
Problems are solved, now I can finally play BF1 and FIFA 17
Hope this helps.

Hi, I recently had this problem too,
Turns out I was being pretty stupid.
My computer's Date/time was incorrect, so origin's SSL certificate was being rejected by the QTwebplugin and it doesn't appear to have an error code for it.
After setting my computer's date and time correctly, origin was able to connect to the server in order to present me with a logon page.

I had a similar problem where the installer was just a black box. My mouse cursor would change as I scrolled within it so links and text etc was obviously loaded, but wasn't displayed.
My solution was to change my resolution from 1920x1080 to 1600x900, then I right-clicked on the installer and ran as an administrator. Then it worked fine. I didn't try running it normally but I did try the adminstrator without changing my resolution and it didn't work.
Stupid and weird but whatever.
Oh, thx for the hint.
It is not about the resolution but the 16 or 32bit color.
Origin ONLY runs under 32bit(not sure about 24bit) color mode now......
Btw, if your setting was 16bit color, and try to run origin.
The setting wil be changed to 32bit but without any affect.
Chose the 32 bit color again manually, it should be fixed.
Posted by @gileandos (turn off add-blocker):
The Origin login startup would do nothing but hang at a white screen.
I had Ad-Aware installed. I turned it off and it would allow it to open again.
Ad- Aware would not allow it to install either.
Turning off Ad-Aware solved it.

Ok. i got it working again also.
My problem was the blank screen in origin so i coulndt see or download my games.
I used the next solution. Looks like the one posted earlier on page 39 of this topic by EA_MAI..
I did the following in exactly this sequence:
This worked for me.
Hope it works too for those concerned.

Yes, well, sorry for my earlier outburst. I was frustrated indeed by the time I spent without being able to have a solution to a problem that surely wouldn't affect only us users, but EA themselves as well. Anyway, today I decided to give it another shot and finally it started working.
About my NVIDIA drivers, they've been pretty problematic for me too. I've been trying to update my GeForce Experience and it only returns me a message saying they couldn't connect to the NVIDIA servers. And it's immediate as if I weren't even connected to the Internet. I sent them feedback earlier today, so I'm waiting for a response (if it comes).

Outbursts happen when something doesn't work the way it's supposed to - that is understandable. Thank you though for sticking with us.
As for the issue - you resolved this by updating your GPU drivers? Would you mind uploading a new dxdiag? This might help other players that are still struggling.

Hi, clearing the cache fixed it for me, thanks!

If a certain step resolved the issue for you then please create a post and state which specific step provided the resolution.
Update:
There are many issues posted in this thread and some are not related to what we are investigating - the Origin blank screen issue.
In many cases this is caused by either an anti-virus, anti-malware or firewall program. If you've performed troubleshooting but still experience the issue then uninstall these for testing purposes.
We would also like you to try the following:
We are asking you to perform these steps because some of the issues seem to be related to certain internet providers. If at this point you are still on the blank screen then we need the following information to investigate further:
If certain results are not easy just note down, then take a screenshot of all the separate results that you see on your screen. To upload this to the thread you can select Choose File after selecting Reply, while posting.

@Straatford87 Actually not, I just want to the Origin download page to try my luck with a hopefully non-buggy installer and today I got lucky.
I updated my GPU later through the NVIDIA website; funnily enough, I found out they had also changed the GeForce Experience UI like EA did for Origin. Not sure why these things happen.
I'm appending a newer DXDIAG taken after the update.

@Straatford87 and the rest of the thread First, I ran the tests on my WORKING, as in Origin is fine for me, Origin and attached the results of a good test to this post, just for comparison. It might help you get this fixed.
ATTN: WINDOWS 10 USERS
You will need to install the TELNET client to use that command.
Control Panel - Programs - Programs and Features - Turn Windows Feature on or off - check the box net to Telnet. Let Windows install the client for you. Now that command will work at the command prompt.

@Futz0r Yes, that's good. Telnet only displays errors, if there are no errors, it shows a blank screen so, that's what you want it to do.
