Prepare to play Star Wars Battlefront with in-game tutorials, a list of controls, and tips on perspective and how to avoid overheating your weapons.
Start with a training mission
New players can play the Probe Droid tutorial when you first launch Star Wars Battlefront to familiarize yourself with the game. If you skip it or want to play it again, click the Tutorial button on the main game menu to get started.
Other tutorials are available under the Missions option in the Play menu. Select the Training option for missions that introduce you to vehicles, heroes, villains, game modes, and the best ways to play Star Wars Battlefront.
Use Star Cards to your advantage during gameplay
Star Cards represent different weapons and equipment you can take into battle.
You can unlock Star Cards with in-game Credits. Then assemble hands of two Asset Cards and one Charge Card to turn the tide of your battle.
You can find the Star Cards menu under Unlocks in the Collect tab of the main game menu.
There, you can find, and possibly upgrade, your unlocked Star Cards, use credits to purchase new Star Cards, and customize your Star Card hands.

Perspective is key
When you play Star Wars Battlefront on foot or flying in an air vehicle, hold down on your directional pad, or the C key on PC, to switch between first- and third-person perspectives. While on foot, tap down or C to switch which shoulder the camera is behind.
Each view gives you a dynamic view of the battlefield. Choose which is best for the way you play, or switch between views depending on the situation to get a full view of your surroundings.
Don’t overheat
Blasters overheat when fired too frequently.
When you sshooting, you’ll notice a curved meter below your aiming reticle that grows until it turns red. When that happens, your blaster overheats and stops working momentarily.
If you overheat, a new meter appears with a small yellow section on each side and two dots moving from the outside toward the center.
Perform a cooling flush to shoot again by pressing the Use button, the E key on PC, the Square button on PlayStation 4, and the X button on Xbox One, precisely when the dots line up with the yellow section.
If successful, your blaster is immediately ready to fire again. If you miss, you’ll have to wait for your blaster to cool off.
Avoid overheating by ceasing fire before your heat meter fills up.
Power up
Power ups are scattered across the battlefields of most game modes.
These pick-ups offer one-time use items like special weapons, vehicles, and abilities.
Pick up a power-up token then press 4 on PC, L1 and R1 simultaneously on PlayStation 4, and both the left and right bumpers on Xbox One to activate it
