To be eligible for a transfer from the last console generation to the new console generation you should:
Any coins and other items remaining in your collection will be assigned a value. Once you start your new generation account, you’ll be given a similar value in Tradeable Packs to start on your new generation account. The value assigned to these items will be similar to the value given when exchanging items through Sets.
Note: For clarity, any coin balance will not transfer directly. Coin balance in addition to items remaining in your collection will be assigned a value which will be given in Packs on the new generation account.
Depending how you’d like to start your experience on your new generation account, you have some options to prepare on the last generation console.
Whatever you decide, ensure the 20 players and coach you want to transfer are in your Active Lineup on your last generation console before starting your account on the new console generation. Once that account has been created the transfer will no longer be available.
Once you’ve prepared your last generation account for transfer, you can start your new generation HUT Account.
Note: The items you transfer will still be available on the previous generation account but will turn to untradeable.

What if I created a ps5 team but never really used the account? I just logged in for like 2 weeks straight thinking I would just be able to move my hut team from ps4 to ps5 when this was a thing? Why the f do you not be more specific and transparent about your plans for this upgrade? Your company is literally freaking worthless between your unplayable trash servers and messing this up not letting people move their ps4 team because they simply opened up the game into hut on ps5 before this was even announced. There needs to be an option to delete your ps5 current team and content so people can transfer their teams to ps5. If this doesn't work it's literally the last straw for me with this franchise. I get that people will be getting new gen consoles but what about the hundreds of people that already have them and have been playing ps4 just waiting to upgrade to ps5, but already logged into the new game.

Agreed. Deleting ps5 team to allow ps4 team 8n should absolutely count. No excuses

Does that include our players that aren't in the lineup? Are they considered collectibles? OR does collectible just mean those 4 collectibles like seasonal, 22 under 22, powerup, 16 bit collectible?

A friend of mine had a PS4 team and played on it for months, until he got a PS5 two weeks ago and he decided to start a new ultimate team on the PS5. He never played or used the new PS5 account and continued to play on the PS4 one while he waited for the transfer. Since hearing about this, he has deleted the PS5 team and is wondering if he'll still be able to transfer his PS4 stuff on Dec 9?

Hi, everyone.
Deleting a new console generation (Xbox Series X/S or PS5) team will not make you eligible for the content migration.
Per the Dual Entitlement FAQ: Players who start playing NHL 22 on PlayStation®4 or Xbox One (current gen) and who have NOT started a HUT team on the new console generation will be able to transfer their HUT Team value and progress to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S (next gen) NHL 22.
