NHL 22 HUT CONTENT MIGRATION FAQ:

 

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for a transfer from the last console generation to the new console generation you should:

  • Have a HUT Team created in NHL 22 on the last console generation (Xbox One or PS4)
  • Have not started a HUT Team on the new console generation (Xbox Series X/S or PS5)
  • Plan to start a HUT Team on the new console generation with the same Gamertag or PSN ID
    • Note: Transfer is only available going from Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S or from PS4 to PS5. Transfer will not be available going from Xbox One to PS5 or PS4 to Xbox Series X/S
    • Deleting a new console generation (Xbox Series X/S or PS5) team after December 9th will not make you eligible for the content migration.

What Will Transfer

 

  • The 20 Players and Coach in your Active Lineup
  • Note: Player stats on these items such as Goals and Assists will not transfer
  • Your Active Arena, Logo, and Jerseys
  • Collectibles in your Collection
  • Unopened Packs
  • HUT Champions Reward Points

Any coins and other items remaining in your collection will be assigned a value. Once you start your new generation account, you’ll be given a similar value in Tradeable Packs to start on your new generation account. The value assigned to these items will be similar to the value given when exchanging items through Sets.

Note: For clarity, any coin balance will not transfer directly. Coin balance in addition to items remaining in your collection will be assigned a value which will be given in Packs on the new generation account.

 

How to Prepare

 

Depending how you’d like to start your experience on your new generation account, you have some options to prepare on the last generation console.

  • Consolidate your Collection into Items that will Transfer.
    • You may choose that you want to have more control over the value that you want to transfer.
    • One option to do this is to use a combination of the Auction House and Sets to consolidate the value in your account into items that will transfer, such as the 20 players in your active lineup or Collectibles
    • By using the Auction House and Sets to consolidate the value in your account, you’ll have control over the decisions you make while doing this, and ultimately choose the 20 players you want to bring over and start your new generation experience with.
    • Leaving your account with as few coins as possible and no items in your collection (excluding the items that will transfer) will give you more control over what you bring over, but there will not be any value remaining to earn additional packs.
  • Protect what you value most, and open some packs.
    • Alternatively, you may want some fresh packs to open when you start your new generation experience.
    • As any remaining coin balance and items in your collection will be valued and given in packs after the transfer, you may choose to just focus on protecting the 20 players you really care about, then take the packs for the remaining value in your account.
  • Mix and Match
    • You may also choose to do a bit of each option above, consolidating some of the value in your account into the 20 players and/or Collectibles, while also leaving some value in the account to earn some packs when starting your new account.

Whatever you decide, ensure the 20 players and coach you want to transfer are in your Active Lineup on your last generation console before starting your account on the new console generation. Once that account has been created the transfer will no longer be available.

 

How the Transfer Works

 

Once you’ve prepared your last generation account for transfer, you can start your new generation HUT Account.

  • Select Hockey Ultimate Team from the Main Menu
  • On the HUT Welcome screen, you’ll have the option to ‘Upgrade From Last Gen’ or ‘Create New HUT Team
  • Select ‘Upgrade From Last Gen
  • View the in-game information screens and confirm your option

 

 

  • Once you have confirmed your transfer, advance to HUT
  • Find your transferred content:
    • 20 players in Active Lineup and Coach will be sent to your Item Inbox
    • Active Arena, Logo, Jerseys will be sent to your Item Inbox
    • Collectibles (if applicable) will be sent to your Item Inbox
    • Unopened Packs will be available in your Unopened Packs section
    • New Packs from the account valuation will be available in your Unopened Packs section as well
    • HUT Champions Points

Note: The items you transfer will still be available on the previous generation account but will turn to untradeable.

@EA_Blueberry What if you delete your ps5 team before Dec 9th, will that allow a ps4 transfer?

What if I created a ps5 team but never really used the account? I just logged in for like 2 weeks straight thinking I would just be able to move my hut team from ps4 to ps5 when this was a thing? Why the f do you not be more specific and transparent about your plans for this upgrade? Your company is literally freaking worthless between your unplayable trash servers and messing this up not letting people move their ps4 team because they simply opened up the game into hut on ps5 before this was even announced. There needs to be an option to delete your ps5 current team and content so people can transfer their teams to ps5. If this doesn't work it's literally the last straw for me with this franchise. I get that people will be getting new gen consoles but what about the hundreds of people that already have them and have been playing ps4 just waiting to upgrade to ps5, but already logged into the new game.

Agreed. Deleting ps5 team to allow ps4 team 8n should absolutely count. No excuses

Does that include our players that aren't in the lineup? Are they considered collectibles? OR does collectible just mean those 4 collectibles like seasonal, 22 under 22, powerup, 16 bit collectible?

A friend of mine had a PS4 team and played on it for months, until he got a PS5 two weeks ago and he decided to start a new ultimate team on the PS5. He never played or used the new PS5 account and continued to play on the PS4 one while he waited for the transfer. Since hearing about this, he has deleted the PS5 team and is wondering if he'll still be able to transfer his PS4 stuff on Dec 9?

Hi, everyone.

 

Deleting a new console generation (Xbox Series X/S or PS5) team will not make you eligible for the content migration.

 

Per the Dual Entitlement FAQ: Players who start playing NHL 22 on PlayStation®4 or Xbox One (current gen) and who have NOT started a HUT team on the new console generation will be able to transfer their HUT Team value and progress to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S (next gen) NHL 22.

December 9th is when the feature goes live. You can transfer your team anytime afterwards. It's shown in the second picture via the prompt you'll get in game.
