QUESTION about Update and Switching Devices

Hello,

If I did not update Tapped Out on my tablet, would I be able to go back to the old version and continue the quests for Tap Ball stuff?  Or would I erase things I've done in my Springfield since the update?  Or would nothing happen?

Never mind.  It won't let me play on my tablet and forces me to update.  Darn.
