Here are a few steps that you can follow before contacting EA help center.
One....
Sign out of the game,
Hard shut down the app,
Restart your device,
Make sure your device is up to date,
Sign back in to the app with your information.
If you still do not see your town....try these next steps.
Sign out of the game,
Clean app cache,
Restart the device,
Make sure your device is up to date,
Sign back into the game.
Still not seeing your town...
Here are the final troubleshooting steps.
Uninstall the app,
Restart your device,
Make sure the device is up to date,
Reinstall the app,
Sign into the game.
If by chance you are still not seeing your town, you will need to contact EA help center and have them reset your town to what is saved on their server. This could lead to level loss, in game progress loss depending on when your game saved last on thier server.
Go to http://help.ea.com/
Log in with your Origin ID
Click on help with a game
Click on the Simpson's Tapped Out logo
Scroll to the bottom of the page, click on contact us
Select your appropriate platform
Click next on bottom right
Select a topic
Tell us a little more: Simpson's Tapped Out
Click next
You will then have the option for Answer HQ, Live Chat or Email or a Call Me Option!
If you see live chat and want to wait, click it.
If you want to send an email, click that one.
If you want a call back, choose that one and enter a phone number for them to call you back!
NOT EVERY OPTION IS AVAILABLE! DEPENDING ON YOUR LOCATION AND TIME DAY, WILL DEPEND ON YOUR OPTIONS!!

After latest update i was signed out of orgins on simpsons tapped out. i know my id but not my email. i forgot which one i used i know my password. im like lvl 35 or 36 i had tons of stuff i had to buildi dont want to lose progress please help

For security reasons, EA will not provide you with the email address that you used. You will need to try all the emails that you have. You can always contact them to see if they have changed their policy on this issue.
Go to http://help.ea.com/
Log in with your Origin ID

I also got reset to Lvl 1 today. As this happened already >a year ago and I rebuilt completely from scratch, I hope these guidelines will do the trick, otherwise I'm off using EA/origin mobile apps forever. So much time wasted...

@tuexss as long as your game is linked to an Origin account the game is saved on the EA server and one of the steps above should work!
