Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.67.45.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get to Work, City Living, Seasons, Get Famous, Island Living, University, Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, Strangerville, Realm of Magic, Perfect Patio Stuff, Cool Kitchen Stuff, Romantic Garden Stuff, Kids Room Stuff, Backyard Stuff, Fitness Stuff, Ghoulish Guitar, Holiday Celebration Pack.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start with a fresh new game, no CC loaded. No Mods loaded. Play the game for several days in Sim time and meet new people every day. After about 5 days while meeting new people the bug will happen. When I have started the new game in Winter the bug usually happens the day after the Winter Holiday.
What happens when the bug occurs? Within the game there is a Relationship tab that shows all of the other Sims that your active Sim knows and the traits that are known. Normally the Sim that is being interacted with will show up as the top left Sim in the tab. At some point during game play the Sim that the Active Sim is talking to will suddenly be at the bottom of the list. Any new Sims or formally talked to sims will go to after that sim position as if the new interacting sim position on the list is lower down. Depending on the Active Sim the location varies. If I number the boxes in the Tab as top left is #1 and top right is #4, then the next row is #5-8 and so on. With one active Sim the interacting Sim shows up in box 23, with another active Sim is in box 60, and with other active Sims show up in other boxes. The position is always consistent with the particular active Sim.
What do you expect to see? The Sim that the active Sim is talking to should be in the upper left box of the relationship tab.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. upgrade to 1.67.45.1020 but didn't notice until a week after the upgrade
This has been a frustration search for what is happening. It took me a couple weeks to decide that it is the game software doing it and not Mods or CC. If you need my Saved games I can provide them but it is easy to duplicate without my saves. Just play the game for a few days and watch the Relationship List.

What happens when the bug occurs? My relationship panel stopped updating..ie; recent interactions used to go to the top. Now nothing moves. New babies etc are randomly dispersed in the listing.
What do you expect to see? Expect new interactions to behave as before, and be the first sim in the list of the relationship panel.

Please describe the patch or change you made. I think it started after this last patch
So it used to be that when you interacted, or even clicked on a new sim you hadn't met, that they'd move to the top of the relationship panel. Also, any new infants would move to the top of the list as well. Now they do not...they're spread out throughout the list of sims in the panel. Even when you'd use a cheat and modify the relationship score, for example, to 100..the sim would pop to the top of the list. Now it doesn't. It may move a row up or so, but that's all.
It's already hard to sort through to find certain sims you may need to look for...this makes it even more difficult. I removed all mods, repaired, etc etc...(all the fixes one can do outside of installing a brand new game). Seems to have happened after the last patch for me.

I am able to reproduce the next thing I discovered...
If I have my household / roommates tab selected in the relationship panel, it will update the sims properly when I interact with them (moving them to the first upper left corner)...however it will not update sims in any other panel.

I've had this bug pop up from time to time over the years. I found something that clears it up for a while but it always eventually comes back. It pops up pretty rarely thankfully. Talk to the sim that is locked in the "top left", number #1 position in the relationship panel. I found this easiest to do by just having your sim at home and then invite them over. When the #1 locked sim shows at your house, talk to them. For me, this bumps the locked character out of the #1 position to about the middle of the relationship panel. The sim that was to the right of the #1 position should now be the new #1. Repeat the call thing with each sim. Eventually you'll notice the initial locked #1 sim when you started the process working their way back to the #1 spot. Either right before they get back into the #1 spot or are at the #1 spot again, the relationship panel goes back to normal somehow. It's been a while since I've had this bug pop up so I forgot exactly when the Relationship Panel rights itself again. The Relationship panel is now "unlocked". It goes back to who ever you are currently talking to being in the #1 spot.
