[OPEN] [DO] Photo of experimental food changed (Patch 1.97.62)

[ Edited ]
★★★★★ Novice

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.97.62.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansion packs (except for Growing Together), all game packs and stuff packs; along with the kits - Desert Luxe, Moonlight Chic, Blooming Rooms and Country Kitchen.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By adding an experimental photo to a wall and adding the frame to it.
What happens when the bug occurs? The photo changes from what was originally taken to the Vanilla Sea Shells and Chocolate Caviar.
What do you expect to see? The photo should be not be changing when adding the only frame color option.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Took a screenshot of the glitch the game is creating for me. As you can see the Cubed Ahi photo is appearing as the Vanilla Sea Shells experimental food photo instead, when the frame was added. I did update/repair the game, but when I "add frame" it changes the frame the photo changes to the Vanilla Sea Shells.

And this is a new game I started up, not an old one. The Sims 4 I have is up to date with the latest patches and updates as noted by my game version, but I am getting this error every time I add the frame to the experimental food photos.

Edit By Crinrict: Added Tag to Title, Adjusted Title. Seems to be a re-occurance of this old issue: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-INPUT-DO-Photo-of-experimental-food-changed/m-p/8086901

★ Guide

This has always happened in my game no matter if I am using mods or it is a totally clean install and save. Not game breaking, but super annoying and I don't understand why it is still an issue.

I've given up on even trying to frame the pictures

Agree; it is very annoying. They say it’s fixed, but it’s not fixed as players are still getting this one issue.

And yeah, I will give up on framing the experimental foods until this problem is fixed as well.

[DO] Photo of experimental food changed (2023)

★★ Pro

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.98.127.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cats & Dogs, City Living, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle, Get to Work, Get Together, Seasons, Snowy Escape, Dine Out, Outdoor Retreat, Realm of Magic, Tiny Living, Vintage Glamour, Courtyard Oasis, Dream Home Decorator, Cottage Living, Kids Room, Toddler Stuff, Spooky Stuff, Incheon Arrivals, Fashion Street, Blooming Rooms, Werewolves, High School Years, Desert Luxe, Pastel Pop, Everyday Clutter, Paranormal Stuff, Cool Kitchen
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Take a photo of experimental food at a restaurant. Go home. Put the photo on the wall. It will look normal. Then add a frame.
What happens when the bug occurs? Adding the frame changes the image of the dish to a different dish. The tooltip text description doesn't change. Removing the frame doesn't fix it. Dragging the photo back into inventory displays the correct image inside the inventory, but it reverts to the incorrect image when dragged out of inventory.
What do you expect to see? The image is the same regardless of whether it's framed or not.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

This is exactly the same bug as in this thread marked "Fixed" in 2020

https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/FIXED-DO-Photo-of-experimental-food-changed/m-p/8086901

I acquired these photos through gameplay (taking pictures of experimental food in a restaurant), not through the debug menu.

I don't use experimental food very often so I don't know when this bug started occurring again. I just saw it in my game the other day and noticed it was an old fixed bug.

(No mods currently installed, and none ever used in this save.)

Experimental food (again)

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.102.190.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Make a photo of an experimental food, place it and add frame
What happens when the bug occurs? When you add a frame, it is always black. Among other things, the most unpleasant part is that instead of the original photo, you get a photo of a completely different dish.
What do you expect to see? I want to see exactly the image of the dish whose photo I took, as well as different frame colors
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Actually, this is not the first time my problem has come up. The first time this happened was 5 years ago. (with and without mods). I took a photo of an experimental dish, placed it and added frame. Voila.

@happykitkat Yup. Has always happened no matter what, still happens no matter what. Every once in a while I check and frame one to see if they fixed it, but nope. Just have to resign to never framing them if I want to keep the image it's supposed to be.
