[OPEN] [CKK] Cannot add ice to Country Charm Fridge [ Edited ]

Get Together, Cats and Dogs, Seasons, Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, Strangerville, Realm of Magic, Perfect Patio, Spooky, Romantic Garden, Backyard, Laundry Day, Tiny Living, Holiday Celebration, Grim's Ghoulish Guitar, and Country Kitchen Kit.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Make your lot "Off the Grid" and buy the Country Charm Fridge. The catalog says it is Functional Off the Grid, but there is no option to "add ice." If you put food in it, the food will not last longer. The IceBOX Vintage Refrigerator and the 30 Day Glimmerbrook Fridge (the 2 other off the grid fridges) do have the add ice option.
What happens when the bug occurs? The Country Charm Fridge acts like fridges that do not work off the grid. But if you buy one of the other 2 off the grid fridges, you can add ice to them, which in turn will add ice to the Country Charm Fridge, as evident by the increase of time before the food in the fridge would spoil. But without one of the other fridges, you cannot see how much ice you have in it, nor are you able to fill it with ice.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to add ice to the Country Charm Fridge thus making it function like the other two Off the Grid fridges. The Country Charm Fridge is listed in the Off the Grid section. I expect it to work as such.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

The Pancakes at Dawn Stove and Country Charm Sink work as they should (both of them also being Functional off the grid). In summary, it seems the Country Charm Fridge got correctly labeled as an off the grid fridge, but did not get the actual functionality of an "off the grid" fridge.

I do hope that this bug gets fixed soon, as I had been enjoying building with the new Country Kitchen Kit. But to find out that one of the items does not function in Live Mode, as it should, is disappointing.

I hope the Country Charm fridge gets its "off the grid" capabilities fixed when we get the new Cottage Living Expansion pack. Maybe with more people playing off the grid, we will get fixes and updates to Off the Grid living in general.

@amoeller87 Not so lucky. I just ran into this problem. So frustrating, since I'm doing a rags to riches start with 0 simoleons and earn 1 million, with off the grid & simple living. I spent all that money on a fridge that doesn't work and wasted a bunch of high quality produce to find out I need to buy ANOTHER fridge to make the first work... and if I buy a cheaper fridge, which stats apply to my food then? Food quality 4 or food quality 6? 🤨🤬

@BubblgumBlitz my guess is that whatever is the highest level of fridge you have, would determine the food quality. But it is very annoying that an item that claims to be off the grid, doesn't actually work for it. As I said previously, hopefully with more ppl playing "off the grid" more will notice this bug and it can get fixed. I just do not understand how something like this is not caught. It's not like it's a new feature, it's already an existing feature.

It's a shame that the Country Charm fridge doesn't work off the grid (as it claims to be), as its stats and price make it one of the best fridges in the game.

Clearly more "Off the Grid" gameplay testing is needed. Why just the other day, I discovered that if your sim has learned how to make the popcorn chicken, it will show up for you while off the grid, but your sim will stop after cutting up some stuff, only finishing if you turn the power back on, because it actually does require power... never mind the fact that if a stove functions off the grid, that means it is a gas stove, which would enable you to make anything with the stovetop or the oven itself. Like I said, much more work needs to go into making "Off the Grid" gameplay work much better. Sadly it feels like a rushed feature, rather than a fully fleshed out one.

Just found this out yesterday. My Sim "inherited" a ruined building that is technically off-the-grid, because it wasn't lived in in ages. He's started with 0 simoleons and is trying to fix it up. And since the old fridge that was there was the base game one that doesn't work off the grid, I wanted him to buy a better one with his first bigger paycheck, so he could at least cook in bulk. The country charm fridge is really cute too, so I went for it, only to find out that it doesn't work off-the-grid, even though it's labeled as such. I had to buy one of the other ones, which are way less cute but at least work as promised. They should just remove the label if nothing else. It's confusing.

@bbyhighnessThis should be an easy fix, just make it like the other "off the grid" fridges, until then, when I want to play off the grid, instead of using the Country Charm Fridge, I'll have to use one of the Cottage Living fridges instead... but I really like the Country Charm Fridge. 😕

The team corrected all the descriptions of the Off The Grid Objects (see patch notes for the infants update) but they forgot to fix this fridge. It's still sign Off The Grid compatible (it's in the description) but we still cannot add ice to it.
