spend the whole day there and writing down when they spawn and then after a week swapping to another household/neighbourhood then going on those days when they usually spawn on the normal for the san myshuno, then i get there about 7.30am because im aware that it takes time to spawn but they dont.

Similar issue, while my sim lived in the city the boxes would spawn all over, but since I've moved the household into a different world, the boxes have stopped spawning completely.
Previously on a save where my sim never lived in the city at all, I never got the boxes in the first place (And boy was I confused about what boxes the flea market festival was talking about!)
From my experience, it does not matter where you live in the city, as long as you live in the city the boxes will spawn, and otherwise they simply never spawn at all.
I have even spend a long enough time in a single neighborhood in the past for the posters to respawn multiple times, yet during that whole time not a single box spawned there.
On the other hand, while my new sim lived in a appartment, the boxes pretty much got thrown at me like snow globes are going out of style!

I have noticed that the boxes do respawn but it takes more than a day for them to do so. At least 2 and sometimes 3 days so you have to spend a considerable amount of time in a zone unless you live there. They seem to spawn faster if you live there though.

Me too. They used to spawn everywhere and I didn’t need to spend hours in the neighborhood, either. Now the only boxes that spawn are in my sim’s neighborhood. I have one globe left to collect. The description in buydebug says that it’s a common globe, but it’s elusive. It’s the city bridge one. All the poster boxes work fine, though.
