Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Lock gate or door for any type of animal.
What happens when the bug occurs? Animals continue to use gate.
What do you expect to see? Locked gates prevent animals from using them.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Installed Horse Ranch

I can't get gates or doors to lock out animals since installing Horse Ranch.
I removed mods before installing Horse Ranch and did not use them while this problem occurred.

Locking gates and doors does not stop animals from using gates.
This problem happens when I select each animal to lock out, and also when I select "all pets."
This occurs with multiple gates including the "paddock gate," "stable stall door," and "prison door gate."
This also occurs with buildings and doors.
I don't know if this extends to human sims.

I have tried with many different gates from across multiple expansions, including Base Game, Horse Ranch, and Cottage Living. I have tried 'lock for everyone but Ranch Hand', 'Lock for all Livestock', 'Lock for all Llama's and Cows', 'Lock for all mini farm animals', 'lock for mini sheep', and 'lock for mini goats' but none of them seems to actually lock for any of the animals they should be.

Locks do not engage.

Definitely, it doers not work anymore. My house is full with animals.

I have the same, it's really annoying. It worked properly when I first installed Horse Ranch, but later on it didn't. If I click lock for all pets, does that mean ALL pets? Like including chicken, dogs, cats, mini goat/sheep and horses? And sometimes when I switch active lots and go to a household with a horse, the horse is suddenly outside of the locked area, but when I ask it to go back it gets the thought bubble that it can't go through the gate because it's locked... hope this gets fixed asap.

@luthienrising Hi there! I have never had any mods. Can you tell me where to find the localthumbcache and what happens if you delete that? Sorry I never heard of it so far, thanks in advance.

Hi @IrisuChan ! Localthumbcache is a file (not a folder) in Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. I've found that even when I'm playing vanilla (which admittedly I don't do much anymore), it can helpful to delete it when my game is getting glitchy and slow. It does mean that your game has to start generating household pictures fresh, but it doesn't affect what you see in genealogy! If you've not deleted it in eons, it's probably storing a lot of stuff the game isn't using anymore.
