Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.97.42.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? all except wedding stuff and most of the kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Put infants to bed in their crib and then don't give the parents a task. Their autonomy seems to drive them to take the infants out of the crib for no reason.
What happens when the bug occurs? I command the parent to put their infant into the crib. If I don't immediately give the parent another task, they will perform a "check infant" task or something and immediately take the infant back out of the crib. If I don't watch them constantly, they will take the infants out of the crib over and over if the infant is awake, even if I literally just told them to soothe the infant to sleep, etc.
What do you expect to see? I command the adult sim to put the infant to bed in the crib, then they leave the infant in the crib to fall asleep.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Growing Together
As it says, I command the parent to put their infant into the crib. If I don't immediately give the parent another task, they will perform a "check infant" task or something and immediately take the infant back out of the crib. If I don't watch them constantly, they will take the infants out of the crib over and over if the infant is awake, even if I literally just told them to soothe the infant to sleep, etc.
If I have multiple adults and multiple infants, I will end up in an endless loop of putting an infant down to sleep with one sim, switching to the other sim to do something, then switching back to the first sim to find them picking the infant up from the crib. Repeat forever. If the infant is asleep, they leave it alone. But when putting the infant to sleep, I have to immediately command the adult sim to do something else or they *will not* let the infant fall asleep.

ETA: this is also happening with the play mat. I don't even bother with cribs anymore, but the play mat is just as bad.

- Parent Sims will no longer get stuck standing idly in front of the crib when trying to interact with their sleeping baby.
Fixed in Patch 1.110.265/2.01

Oh my EFFIN G!!!!!! This bug is driving me crazy!
Here’s the scenario:
-infant needs sleep
-parent places infant in crib
-infant cries and tries to “go night night”
-parent (or any adult) comes and takes infant out of crib and places on floor
-parent picks infant up and takes back to crib
-parent places infant into crib
-the cycle repeats infinitely
Is anyone else having this issue??? It literally makes me scream obscenities at my computer screen. 🤬🤯😤

Yes! And you can’t cancel it or prevent it by trying to queue something else!
It doesn’t happen every time, but often enough to be annoying. I think it’s worse if their sleep is actually in the red? If you put them to sleep early while it’s low but still green it seems less likely to happen.

@JennySpectreYes I have the same! I could stop it by letting the Sim Adult do something else (Like cooking) but it's frustrating yes...What actually helps is the cheatcode and then clicking on the Sim and reset the sim...That's the only thing that actually works.

This is driving me nuts. As soon as I see the infant's face in the parent's menu, I stop the game and send the parent to far-off lands. It's the only way the kid gets any sleep!

I've found that if my infant gets into the red on energy their parent will "check infant" and pick them up constantly, thereby preventing them from sleeping. I was extremely frustrated, but the infant aged up with the top notch infant trait so apparently he didn't hold it against her.
I did.

Mine do it regardless. They put the infant down, kiss it goodnight, stand there until they get a new command, autonomously check infant and then take it out of the crib. A lot of the time they then put it on the floor.

Yes, me too! The infant is desperate for sleep but the parents won’t leave the poor kid alone.

I'm having problems with the parent standing there doing nothing even after I gave them a command to set the mobile to lullaby or soothe the infant to sleep. They ignore my command and then insert their own action to take the infant out of the crib and put them on the floor. Over and over I tell them to put the infant to sleep in the crib (using "put to sleep" command, not simply "put in crib". They put the infant down in the crib, ignore my next command to soothe the infant to sleep (or tell story, or turn on lullaby) and then take the infant out and put them on the floor instead.
EDIT to add: It looks like what is happening is that the infant does the "try to go night night" while the parent just stands there, and when the time on that runs out, the parent takes the infant back out of the crib. I watched it while having the infant selected. As soon as the circle timer for the "go night night" action ran out, the parent instantly canceled the command I had given him and picked the infant up.

I was able to get the infant to go to sleep on the floor, but not in the crib.
