What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expect morden menswear
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Make a sim chose traits notice how some of the traits animations are broken like were they are hugging a trash bag the trashbag os missing
What happens when the bug occurs? VFX items on the animation are missing
What do you expect to see? The items safely returned to the animations
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Visual effects for Sim Traits in Create a Sim have returned from an unplanned summer holiday.

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them except for fitness stuff and toddler stuff.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open CAS and add traits to your sims that are supposed to show special floating animations, such as the family-oriented trait.
What happens when the bug occurs? Certain effects are missing in CAS, such as when the family-oriented trait is applied. A little picture frame is supposed to be floating by the sim's head, but it is missing. Spellcaster sims are missing the magical ball when they do their idle animations as well.
What do you expect to see? All of the special effects when using CAS.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This began happening after I updated the game to the latest patch as of 07-18-2023

As you can see in my screenshots, the magical ball animation that should be showing when the spellcaster sim is idle is not showing.

Same issue, exactly. No Mods, fresh save, with a soft reset to the sim s4 folder before verifying it was a game issue . 100% no mods and no animation FX . Not really the most important thing bu its still a little bit sad not to see the cas stuff like usual .

What happens when the bug occurs? Some of them are broken (objects not present). E.G. the shell when you choose Child of the Islands
What do you expect to see?  The items safely returned to the animations
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them. Cache is clear and the game is repaired.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes. It happened after I installed the patch 1.99.264.1030

Having this issue too and I don't use mods. VFX seem to missing from basically all traits; the only one that ISN'T affected seems to be the Vegetarian trait.

This just started happening to me as well.

I wanted to make a mermaid Sim in CAS and realised all the bubbles and waves surrounded by mermaids had disappeared.

At first I thought it was my save but after some investigation I found out it's not related to my saves.

Repaired my game, reloaded, restarted, disabled mods but all the VFX animations in CAS are still missing.

I wish this would be addressed in a later patch.

Hi everyone, me again! 

I've noticed that in my game, traits such as Geek and Loyal, when clicked, don't show the objects in their effects (for example, the spaceships don't fly overhead when pressing on Geek). Sims will still pose as if they're looking at these objects, but the objects won't appear.

I have no CC or script mods, and I have verified my files through Steam.

Hi @Sybrify. Are you playing with Mods installed? Some may be controlling CAS movement.

I have this issue too...and I realized that servos' face don't show without the vfx effects
