Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.103.315.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything except Growing Together and 5 of the kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? have a sim living as a landlord in one of the units they own
What happens when the bug occurs? tenet revolts happen on five star units and when the landlord tries to 'promise better conditions' it sends repeated failure notifs whether it worked or not
What do you expect to see? no revolts on 5 star lots
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. After downloading the For Rent expansion
Playing as Vanesha with a tenant. Revolt event starts. Tenant isn't home. Vanesha lives above and is the property owner but when I knock on the door to speak to the tenant I get a pop up from Vanesha saying come on in.
I switch household to tenant - who's elsewhere on the map. Send them home. Vanesha is on the lot so I switch back to her and despite being able to 'offer better conditions' the event does not recognise this, so I switch to tenant and ask for better conditions, again the event does not recognise it.
The '0/1' does not update for either option - which if unsolved threatens to lower Property Ownership credibility.

The event was unresolvable for me as well, playing as landlord.
The 0/1 does not check off no matter how many tenants I offer the "better conditions" demand.
Didn't seem to matter however, in fact after the event ended my ratings went up and I didn't fix a thing (not that I was going to anyway, they get what they get and they better love it)

Revolt event is unsolvable no matter how many times you promise better conditions. Also I ran to the apartment and repair and maintenance all items is kitchen and bath. Nothing works rating still goes down. Steam Windows version with no mods installed.

Before you talk to the tenant to promise better conditions you have to visit the unit of the sim who started the protest.
•Open the rental agreement once you are in the unit to look at the condition of the rental. You will see why the rental is rated at it's current star rating.
•You have to then go into world view while you, the landlord, is still in the unit.
•Go into build mode for the unit.
•Edit the unit to make the changes necessary to increase the star rating for the unit. If the environment is lacking, you need to add more decor and so on that increase environment and lot value.
•When you are finished, save and go back into world view.
•Locate and select your landlord's household to play.
•Last, have your landlord sim talk to the tenant and choose the option to promise better conditions. This should complete the event.
I hope this helps! Good luck!

If your landlord is handy, upgrading their appliances to unbreakable and inspecting them afterwards yourself helps without the costly fees and increases your relationship with your tenants. They won't talk to you about their unit conditions or give you feedback unless you personally show them that you care.

Thank you! This worked for me, I was so confused. I kept trying to talk friendly with the revolting tenants, but every time I tried promising better conditions, I got minus in friendship. I did travel to the revolting tenant's unit since the info bit that announced the revolt started did mention going straight to the tenant's unit, but wouldn't have even thought that you have to -first- fix, and only after promise. Promise in itself is something that you aim to do in the future, not something you already did, so wording absolutely did not make it clear that you have to do it in the opposite order.
I did as you instructed and that worked like a charm!

Hello! Thanks for the images. Looks like your amenities are basic and environment decent. You need to improve those first before you talk to your tenants to promise better conditions. You can find how to do this correctly for the event to be complete here Re: [FR] Rental Protest unsolveable - Answer HQ
