[FIXED] Error Code 0 - Corrupted Sim

[ Edited ]
★★★ Novice

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.97.42.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Growing Together, Everyday Clutter, Desert Luxe, HighSchool Years, Blooming Rooms, Dream Home Decorator, Cottage Living, Realm of Magic, Seasons, Parenthood, Cats and Dogs, Perfect Patio, Luxury Party, and the free packs
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Save the game
What happens when the bug occurs? When I try to save the game I do it as normal but everytime it does the loading symbol for a while and then my game gives me a pop up saying "error code 0" and doesn't save my progress.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see the loading symbol and it to go away and save my progress
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Idk how to fix this i've tried everything i could think of like uninstalling and reinstalling, moving my saves into a new save file, deleting cache, removing mods, repairing my files in the ea app, I've even tried to see if it was a problem with my pc, but nothing. Right now my save file is completely unplayable so I'd really appreciate the help.

  • When attempting to save, "Error Code: 0" no longer occurs related to Gigs or Neighborhood Stories.

Fixed in Patch 1.109.185/1.98

Ok I sent it again. If that doesn't work is there any other way we can resolve this issue without it?

@OABALB That worked thanks. Error 0 is usually a problem with the game unable to write data so I wanted to check about disk space and some other things to stand out. I can't see anything that would point towards the issue,

What security software are you using ? Are you using oneDrive ?

Yes, I'm using OneDrive.

Re: Error Code 0

@OABALB  How full is OneDrive?  Right-click the OneDrive icon in the lower-right corner of your screen, choose Settings > Account, and you'll see the free and total space:

I'm not suggesting you buy more storage; there are other (free) ways to address the issue.  Just let me know whether you want OneDrive to keep automatically backing up your files, or you don't need that feature, or you want OneDrive shut off entirely.

Please also try pausing syncing before playing Sims 4.  The option is in the same right-click OneDrive menu, and you can just choose 2 hours and then test.

I looked at my OneDrive and its completely full so I do think that maybe the issue. Although I did turn off syncing like you suggested but it still didn't save. I did look at the syncing issues pop up that showed up and it showed that it had trouble syncing specifically my sims save folder. I don't really care if my OneDrive backs up my files or not since I don't really use that feature or see myself using the feature too much so I don't mind turning off the backup feature.

Re: Error Code 0

@OABALB  Then please see this guide:

https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/CURRENT-ISSUE-Sims-4-saves-user-content-disappearing-P...

Specifically the "I want to get rid of OneDrive" section, or perhaps "I don't want OneDrive to sync my files" if you have other reasons to keep it active.
