The Battlefield Community Guidelines

Community is at the core of Battlefield, and we’re excited by how our community has grown since the first iterations of Battlefield nearly 20 years ago. With Battlefield 2042, staying true to our core and ensuring Battlefield is a welcoming experience that encourages Positive Play for all remains essential.

Alongside Battlefield, the spaces where our players come together for their love of the game have also evolved. Community is no longer solely an in-game experience, and for that reason we’ve created Community Guidelines outlining our expectations for our community members.

As a community, we play the objective, together.

No-Pats Follow The Rules

Battlefield is a globally inclusive and diverse community where any race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, heritage or country of origin is welcome.

If you are joining us in Battlefield then you are expected to abide by the following rules:

  • Treat Others As They Would Like To Be Treated - Squad up and play the objective, together. We won’t tolerate players who negatively disrupt or engage in harmful behavior towards others.

  • Keep Things Fair - Be on the right side of the fight. If you see players breaking the rules, report them.

  • Share Appropriate Content - Don’t fight dirty. Make sure whatever content you’re sharing is appropriate for Battlefield players.

  • Keep Things Honorable - Protect your squad. Keep it legal in Battlefield, and do not participate or encourage in dangerous or illegal activities.

Failing to follow these guidelines will have consequences meaning your time on the battlefield will come to an end. We may place restrictions on your account and revoke your access to Battlefield 2042. If you have repeat or severe instances, we may permanently terminate your EA account.

Treat Others As They Would Like To Be Treated

Squad up and play the objective, together. We won’t tolerate players who negatively disrupt or engage in harmful behavior towards others. Here are some things you can do to ensure you are doing your part to make Battlefield as welcoming as possible.

Respect others on the Battlefield
It costs nothing to treat your fellow players with dignity. Cooperate with your squad and show new players the ropes by providing helpful pointers.

Fight cleanly
Don’t harass, threaten, bully, spam, or do anything else to another player that is unwanted. Treat everyone with the same level of respect you’d like them to treat you with.

Report violations of protocol
See someone harassing or impersonating another player or partaking in hateful conduct? Or do you feel unsafe while playing a match? Use the in-game report function, or let us know via EA Help.

Report feedback
Do you have feedback about a particular feature or issue you’ve run into during your time with Battlefield 2042? Let us know through our Battlefield forums.

Keep Things Fair

Be on the right side of the fight. If you see players breaking the rules, report them.

Don’t cheat
Don’t do it. Don’t even think about doing it. Cheating includes using exploits, undocumented features, design errors, bugs or other problems that unfairly give you the leg up on your opponent. Fair play is an essential part to maintaining the enjoyability of the Battlefield experience - don’t be the person who ruins everyone’s day.

Don’t be a nuisance
Actively annoying players by spamming chat with distracting messages or blocking other players’ access points to the objective is just as bad as cheating.

What’s yours is yours. Protect it.
Do not trade or sell your EA account to any players, and do not buy an EA account from other players.  It’s against our rules and may be actioned. To keep your account safe, we recommend you turn on Login Verification.

Learn the rules of engagement
Battlefield has a variety of modes with different objectives and rules. Take the time to learn and understand the requirements of each mode, either by learning from the in-game tutorials, other Battlefield 2042 players, or EA Help.

Share Appropriate Content

Don’t fight dirty. Make sure whatever content you’re sharing is appropriate for Battlefield players.

Think twice before you share
Always make sure whatever content you’re about to share in-game isn’t offensive. Don’t share or create content that is abusive, hateful, lewd, threatening, or unlawful. This includes usernames, server names and Experiences made in Battlefield Portal. If you have to ask yourself if it’s offensive, chances are it’s best not to share.

If you can’t say something nice...
Don’t spam the chat with profanity or try to get away with it by replacing certain letters with symbols. We know what you’re trying to do. It’s not that clever.

Keep Things Honorable

Protect your squad. Keep it legal in Battlefield and do not participate in or encourage dangerous or illegal activities.

This includes:

  • Blackmail
  • Doxxing
  • Drug use
  • Extorting
  • Fraud
  • Gambling
  • Making personal or terrorist threats
  • Swatting
  • Soliciting minors for sexual imagery or favors

Be the Squad Leader for your community
If you see incidents harmful to the community then be sure to report them through the tools available to you.

We are dedicated to ensuring that the Battlefield community remains healthy and inclusive. We will not ban players unless the situation absolutely calls for it. However, we will take action to protect our players against harmful behavior, cheating, and illegal activity. When you sign up for an EA account and/or use an EA Service, you agree to the rules in our User Agreement by checking the “I Agree” box. You can review the full list of rules in Section 6 of our User Agreement.

Consequences

The Battlefield Community Guidelines are part of EA’s commitment to Positive Play, and apply to all EA games, services, and platforms. If you break any of our Community Guidelines or violate our User Agreement, we may place restrictions on your account and revoke your access to certain or all EA Services. A short-term ban or suspension is our way of preventing further disruptive behavior and asking you to reexamine how you behave so you can learn from mistakes. We're not mad at you; you just need a break.

If you do receive a ban or suspension on your account, we’ll always send you an email informing you of the action and explain the reason behind our decision. We take these measures not to punish our players, but rather to ensure our communities remain positive, fun, fair and safe for all. If you believe that any action has been taken against your Account or device in error, you can reach out to Customer Support at help.ea.com.

Repeat or Severe Offenses

If you have repeat or severe instances, we may permanently terminate your account. This includes all of your EA Accounts if you have more than one account.

When your EA Account is terminated, you will lose your username and access to the account. If you think the action taken against you is by mistake, let us know.

Remember, Play The Objective, and report harmful behavior if you see it. For more details on our Battlefield Community Guidelines, visit battlefield.com.

Re: The Battlefield Community Charter

★★★★ Apprentice

I stick to the rules and respect the player base as I have done with all my EA games. with that said I think you should try to give me a nice new shiny cosmetic pair of underpants for my operator when 2042 drops. you know for old times sake. I mean that Knights Of The Old Republic MMO didn't fund itself :P

I got gold edition also and that comes with lots of cosmetics like shiny underpants but I think you should give me a unique pair of underpants. Just because I have so much discipline and respect for the community and the player base. and for being a loyal fan of the francize. and not just this franchise. :P

Infect given EAs reputation you should give me all your shiny underpants.

how do you score your own behaviour on delivering broken game to paying customers? We all were fooled by scam trailers.  What score you give to yourself?

@Стрэтфорд87 Of course, I am against harsh statements and pouring * on the game and the studio itself, against burying the game without giving it a chance not to recover. But I see that you mentioned justice, we all want justice. Is it fair to give players for the full cost of an underdog game and then banter them for being evil because of this? It turns out that only the player is responsible for your actions and for what he trusted you? I ask you, do not make the remaining players run away from you, otherwise I have no one to play multiplayer with.

Why battlefield new update make a game worst in hazard zone. We hardly can run the game and Sundance doesn't fly anymore, sniper ntw50 doesn't kill with one shoot! Why you guys don't combine all AE servers , EU, US and Asia! I prefer bogs than not able to play games, Why combine pc players platform with others ! All they do is cheating and hacking the game , play with them wierd things going on , explosion things doesn't kill them , their health is more than others , they see where ever we hide! Fifa game got destroy because of pc players I even delete a game , battlefield like this well now you guys sell games only pc players I guess! Fixt things guys , we prefer bugs in game but this is worst! We are not able to play any games ! Specially EA !

Re: The Battlefield Community Guidelines

★★★ Newbie

Why does the latest update for Battlefield have such a negative impact on the Hazard Zone? The game's performance has significantly deteriorated, with running the game becoming a struggle. Additionally, the Sundance no longer functions properly, and the sniper rifle NTW50 fails to deliver one-shot kills. It's perplexing why the decision hasn't been made to merge all the AE servers, including those from the EU, US, and Asia. I prefer encountering bugs in the game rather than being unable to play it all together. The decision to combine PC players with players from other platforms has only led to an influx of cheaters and game hackers through guns and gadgets. Strange anomalies occur when playing with them, where they seem invulnerable to explosions and possess significantly higher health than other players. They also exhibit an uncanny ability to spot our hiding spots effortlessly. The negative impact of PC players was also felt in the FIFA game, so I ultimately had to delete it. Battlefield appears to be heading down a similar path, catering exclusively to PC players. These issues must be addressed promptly, as the game's current state is unacceptable. We cannot enjoy any games, especially those developed by EA.
