So I just got my first quit penalty. I'm very much for quit penalties, especially in ranked. My team all got downed within a few seconds of each other, then all died within maybe a second or two, so I left. Then I was informed that I quit early and had to wait to queue up again. My issue isn't the quit penalty, it's the fact that I genuinely had no idea I was quitting early. Why would I quit early when we would have just all died a second later? When I went to quit, there was nothing out of the usual. No extra screen warning me that I was quitting when my team has not died yet. Nothing. I have two options for how this can be fixed:
Give a warning screen. Something in which you have to press different buttons to fully quit. This, coupled with a nice brightly colored warning pop-up, would definitely drive home the point before the player decided to go ahead and quit.
Have an "auto quit" feature. I for one have never been interested in seeing the post-death results, nor watching the enemy screen. I would like to get onto my next match instead. If there were a feature that I could turn on in the settings that will get me back to the lobby as soon as my team is all dead, it would be alleviate the possibility of quitting without knowing my team wasn't dead (like what happened to me) as well as making the next match come that much faster.
