Hello. I have around 300 hours in this game, lvl 100 and 99 battle pass. I have a fair understanding of the game by now. Here is my 5 cents:
First of all, I love Apex and played it every day since it came out. Of course, it is not without its own faults, and naturally, we tend to focus on the negative, especially when it prevails. Here is my attempt for “constructive” feedback.
1 – “E button” or action button to open doors AND execute. How many times did I kill someone by the door and instead of opening the door I wound up dead doing the execution. I do not believe it is very hard to segregate execution and interact commands.
2 – Kill Cam. Although hacker report function is available, hackers see when you are spectating them and most likely (apart from complete blatant idiots) will not continue with the aimbots when you are watching them. Moreover, they often intentionally do nothing. Having a kill cam can at least enable you to see how you instantly got lasered wearing a gold armor in the first place rather than watching a guy who does not appear to know his north from the south with 30 kills and an Alternator.
3 – Cost! This is a big one, for me, I simply cannot understand how someone can charge ~$20 for a p2020 skin even if legendary. Expansions cost that much for some games and here we are buying a SKIN, just a single skin. Granted, of course, no one forces me to, and I did buy a wingman skin. I’d love to buy more, I would buy a lot more, but $20 is very very hard to justify paying for one skin. This goes along with the fact we get very little packs later in the levels and no packs starting from lvl 100. The whole system is a bit greedy and naïve. Almost every TTV has a wraith knife but somehow I don’t believe they bought 500 packs to get it or were all so lucky to get one. I hear they got them as a promotional item so that their viewers will be more likely to buy more packs? Marketing and legal, sure, but unethical in my opinion.
4 – Content. As indicated by the developers, there will be fewer releases of new content but it will be quality content. Unfortunately, we cannot avoid comparing Apex to every other BR, and Fortnite, as a good example, sort of set a benchmark of what “content” should look like. Without becoming overly too negative here, and trying to stay as unbiased as I can, I would simply love to see “anything” at this point. Even octane seems like oldschool by now. Someone will call me greedy and “never enough”, and you may just as well, but the majority of people would agree with me.
5 – Battle Pass. I’m sure there has been enough heat generated regarding this matter. I shall say no more. Just please make a better battle pass next time. I was very excited to get a lifeline intro at level 96 (pun intended).
6 – Loot. Often I land in skull town and zoom solo through one of the 4 wings to end up with 5 scopes, 3 stabilizers, no gun and a gangbang consisting of wingman warriors on the other end. RNG and all that but maybe a little more guns “equally” spread out (one gun per room for example) can work?
7 – Server lag and hackers. I know they are working on it, although I still encounter both, not as much server lag now but there is still a prowling army of hackers. I’ve been adding them to my friends now, after reporting of course, to see when they get banned. Some still come online.
8 – Crafting materials? What is that? It is never enough for what I want (after 300 hours) (im talking legendary 1200) and the thousands that I do have of another type aren’t used for anything overly exciting.
9 – Game mode. I’d love to see more training capabilities. Maybe a deathmatch. Maybe a solo que. I want more practice with guns other than shooting square boxes with no attachments on my guns.
I still like Apex and will continue playing keeping my hopes up. Great game, great potential, great fundamentals, just need to build on it now in an ethical and slightly faster way.
