I'm doing my best to understand why I'm supposed to enjoy my ratio of looking for weapons vs. using them being somewhere around 30:1.  I don't get it.  Is opening crates supposed to make me happy, because it's just tedious.  You should start with a default weapon matched to the character and then run around and level up.  Then picking up, dropping, exchanging items in your inventory is just....damn.  

 

Regarding respawning, this game mode is a real buzzkill.  You devote all this time to picking a character, then time to drop in, then time to find a decent weapon if you are lucky, and then maybe you get into a skirmish that lasts a little bit, then die.  Then you wait to be revived, or wait even more to be carried to a respawn beacon where you wait to get let off the drop ship to do it all over again.

 

Lastly, everyone needs a grapple.  I feel like I'm nailed to the ground.

I think Battle Royal games are not your style of games.
All the issues you are having are key to make this type of game "good".
I'm sorry this is not your thing
