Loot system is a joke

People keep hotdrop at Skulltown ( even if there are another 5 squads dropping there) because there is no real penalty if they fail. Just die and repeat the cycle.

A proper ranking system will definitely fix it. The more you die, the faster you drop in rank, no more carelessly hotdrop.
