why do i have to use arrow key is titanfall main lobby

so i have a laptop and then a moniter. when i play titanfall, when ever i have an option my curser is on the on the laptop screen so i have to use arrow keys and its realy annoying cause i have a net work and i cant text chat cause i need to click on the text box with my mouse and its really annoying
