If, after disconnecting and reconnecting to Xbox Live, you still get the endless "retrieving matchmaking list" pop-up, just exit to the Xbox Home menu, and restart the entire game. Go through the same process of disconnecting and reconnecting to Xbox Live, and it should give you successful matchmaking within two or three attempts (by "attempts" I mean quitting out of the entire game, and restarting). (So far, I haven't had it take more than three tries.)
112 posts, multiple disappointed customers, and over 2 years and this problem still persists. This isn't right.

Hello. This problem has re-arisen its head again. I know few still even attempt to play this game now...but people still do! Can't log into data centers again. Check the later posts! It appears to have been happening over the last 2-ish months! Xbox 360 here. All ports/resets/deletes/reinstalls are done. No other games are affected.
