[PC] Titanfall 2 missing dll

Playing on a Mac with bootcamp to windows, intel iris plus 640 graphics (MacBook pro 2018), “Code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP120.dll/MSVCR120.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.”

I’ve repaired the vis C++ installers and deleted and redownloaded TF2 multiple times to no avail.

I copied both .dll’s to the TF2 directory with a change in result to “The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click ok to close.”

any help is hugely appreciated, as I want to see the story before getting to Apex S9

Minor update: was transferring from x64, found that I do not have x32 .dll’s. Repairing vis C++ install for x32 does not install the files, nor does an uninstall/reinstall

Hello,

I have recently had the misfortune of using the infamous ""Software"" known as "EA Desktop" with Xbox game pass

My symptoms after clicking launch game are as follows:

• EA Desktop (and the standalone binary) fails to find either MSVCR120.dll or MSVCP120.dll
• An entry in the taskbar with no visible icon after 500ms

Sorry, I cannot get a screenshot of the above at the moment as it is either currently not reproducible or it happens too quickly

This started happening as soon as I download the game, I've yet to boot it up properly.

I could not find any problems in event viewer, and dxdiag is attached.

Is there anything I could do, or am I a lost cause?

Things I have already tried

  • Including:
    • Repairing dll, booting game
    • Repairing dll, rebooting computer, booting game
    • Removing dll, rebooting computer, installing dll, booting game
    • Swapping dlls with friends
    • Running dependency walker on the dll (to no avail)
• DxDiag (ran ok, txt attached)
• sfc /scannow
• "Clean boot"
• Trying the game in safe mode with networking (same error when launching process)
• Running in win7/8 compatability mode
• Running from both Xbox, EA Desktop and the standalone process
• Re-installed the game
• Cleared the cache

Briefly, my specs are:

• i5-8400
• RX 580
• Windows 10 Pro 19043

Did you ever by chance find a fix for this!? I bought this like 2 months ago and didnt try to open it due to playing other games and now ive been trying to figure out how to get this missing MSVCR120.DLL * issue and i cant find anything on it besides other posts like this with no answer. Any help would be greatful and much appreciated!

@EA_Barry yeah, no... this doesnt work... how bout EA actually releases something functional for once, instead of creating useless apps to replace another that worked just fine...

I know I'm late but I just bought the game and ran into this problem as well. I wanted to share the fix I found. Go into Steam. Click on your name in the top right corner. Click Account Details then Purchase History. Find "Titanfall 2" on the list and click on it. Then select "request refund". This fix should work anytime you accidentally buy an EA game.
