My Eject hatch is broken on PC ?

I can not manually eject out of my Ion with Nuike on KB+M I know it's E but it won't let me does the Ion need to be a specific level to manually eject ?

I haven't played TF2 since 2018 on Ps4 but I thought you still can eject while your in the red and yellow bar only at the beginning though not after you lose a quart of a bar.

I just started playing again on Pc, god damn do I miss this game. that is the only issues I'm having really besides me getting used to the KB+M

the auto eject works though. but not  the manual one..
