The next patch is called Operation Endeavor and it will be live on December 19th!


We’ve got some new weapons skins you’ll be able to purchase, game updates including another nerf to Grapple [just kidding we’re bringing it back to two charges], and rad new Featured Modes we’ll will be adding to the rotation. Let’s get to it:




Elite Weapon Warpaints

We once again have six weapons, the Double Take, Cold War, DMR, R-201, R-97, and the G2 all getting their Elite Warpaint treatment. Like before, Pick these up as a bundle for 19.99 USD or individually for 4.99 USD.

Good news everybody

  • Grapple has been reverted back to two charges
    • After changing grapple to one charge, we did see a small shift in tacticals players chose. However, it still is by far the most commonly picked tactical and trying to change that status quo would require adjustments that would diminish a mechanic that we and many players love. Because the earlier change was not driven by balance concerns, we're happy to revert Grapple back to its previous state of two charges. Swing away!
  • G2 now drifts upwards as you shoot (console only)
  • Minor optimizations for X1X and PS4 Pro

Titanfall 2 PC Patch Notes 11.01.2016


Adaptive resolution scaling (requires TSAA enabled) - This feature allows the game to downscale the rendered image to help maintain a consistent framerate. This will be especially helpful for our users running lower spec video cards, allowing them to maintain 60fps more often, as well as those of you running 4K monitors with more midrange GPUs. Adaptive Resolution uses TSAA's resolve step to output to screen, thus the feature is only enabled when TSAA is enabled.
Word of warning: if you run a resolution or target framerate much higher than your machine will be capable of achieving you will be hindering image quality significantly as the Adaptive Resolution feature will be constantly downscaling your output to maintain performance. All systems will be different, so you should try different settings to see what works best for you and your configuration.

Today's update includes a ton of new content, features, bugfixes, and more. Here's what you have to look forward to:

New Content [FREE]

New Map: We are welcoming Angel City to Titanfall 2 with a 24/7 playlist, meaning if you just want to play Angel City all day and night you can!

  • Playlist will be a mix of Attrition / Bounty Hunt / Amped Hardpoint.
  • We will keep it up as long as it remains popular.
  • Angel City will also be added to the map rotation for other playlists.

New Titan Kits:

RONIN: Phase Reflex

  • When doomed, Ronin phases out of danger.

NORTHSTAR: Threat Optics

  • Enemies are highlighted while zooming in.

SCORCH: Scorched Earth

  • Flame Core ignites the ground, leaving thermite in its wake.

LEGION: Hidden Compartment

  • Power Shot has two charges

TONE: Burst Loader

  • Aiming allows the 40mm to store up to 3 shots to burst fire.

  • Includes instant access to 20 new and exclusive Callsigns Banners and 10 Callsign Patches.

Camo Pack:

  • Includes 20 new and exclusive Camos that can be applied to every Titan, Titan Weapon, Pilot, and Pilot Weapon.

New Features

  • Added FOV slider to console, increased FOV maximum to 110 on all platforms.
  • PS4 streaming for Networks: PS4 users who are streaming will have a new icon next to them, other users can hit a button to view the stream.
  • Better mod tools for Networks: Mods can now mute people for the whole room and change the room voice mode to be mods-only.
  • You can now toggle between having a 2D or 3D style damage indicator in the HUD options.

  • New setting to adjust aiming/ADS sensitivity separate from hipfire sensitivity.
  • A new set of advanced & optional gamepad settings for fine adjustment of turn speeds, deadzones, response curves, and more.
  • Added Support for EA Access, Origin Access, and free Multiplayer Trials.
  • FAQ added to Multiplayer lobby. Your one-stop shop to learn the basics of Titanfall 2 multiplayer - includes in-game patch notes!
  • Modified matchmaking status display to fit longer text needed for some languages.
  • PC Only - Removed "Insane" texture quality and replaced with "Max". No reduction in visual quality for those with enough VRAM, but will reduce hitches when streaming in textures.
  • Display Callsigns for the top 3 players per match during post match scoreboard.
  • Increased likelihood of finding Nessie easter egg in [redacted] mission that no one has found yet. Or did we?
  • Multiplayer Stats menu added to view player stats history. Please note that stats have been tracked since day 1.

Balance Changes

  • Killing Auto Titans will now count towards killing sprees and contribute to towards Camo unlocks.
  • Fixed Bounty Titan scoring in Bounty Hunt.
  • Grapple will now detach after melee hit even if person melee'ed lives.
  • Ronin's Phase Dash and Phase Reflex now removes Tone's Lock-On markers.
  • Attrition and Bounty Hunt - Reduced the amount of Core Meter earned by killing AI.
  • Adjustments to Northstar's Flight Core.
  • Overcore now starts your Titan Core meter at 30%.
  • Adjusted Viper Thrusters so that in addition to moving faster during Flight Core and Northstar now moves faster during Hover as well.
  • Adjusted Scorch’s Tempered Plating damage reduction, and fixed issue with protecting against Fire Wall.
  • Adjusted weighting on map rotations.
  • Adjusted visibility of Cloak.
  • Firing your weapon will now also disable Cloak.
  • Additional balancing to Tone.
  • Titan kills properly award weapon assist stats to assisting players.
  • Tweaked parameters to reduce immediate reuse of spawn zones, but allow reusing them later in the match.
  • Connected a couple of spawn zone pairs in Crashsite.
  • Reduced chances of getting spawn camped.
  • Spawn zones are more fair in Bounty Hunt (equalizes distance to AI camps).
        Bounty Hunt changes:

    • When an AI kills a player, that AI now receives half of that player's bonus.
    • Center bonus popup now shows bonus gained rather than total bonus
    • Rebalanced point distribution among waves so that second wave has a larger impact on the game overall.
    • Boss titans are now worth 500 points (was 600).
    • Reapers are now worth 100 points (was 50).
    • Stalkers are now worth 30 points (was 25).
    • Score bar now shows team's total unbanked bonus as a yellow portion of the score bar.
    • Modes that do not have Titans (such as Pilots vs Pilots, and Coliseum) no longer display the team titan status bar below their score bars.


  • Flatline - increased far and very far pilot damage
  • Volt - reduced pilot damage
  • R97 - increased pilot damage
  • Spitfire - increased pilot damage
  • L-Star - increased pilot damage
  • Double Take - increased damage
  • EPG - slight increase in splash damage; increased titan damage
  • Thunderbolt - increased pilot and titan direct hit damage

Bug Fixes

  • Disabled the ability to earn Double XP during Private Matches.
  • PC Only - Fixed issue with Win10 users who were stuck with "Connecting to Respawn Servers…"
  • Fixed issue where assists were being counted as kills for weapons. Weapons will now also properly receive assist stats when assisting in killing Titans.
  • Fixed issue with bad spawns for Last Titan Standing on Exoplanet.
  • Fixed bug where game completion achievements were not being rewarded when playing the missions out of order.
  • Fixed bug where folks were crashing after grappling evac ship just before it's destroyed. Swing away!
  • Fixed issue on Blood and Rust where players were getting stuck in a death loop.
  • Fixed bug where players would appear to be stuck in ground during executions.
  • Fixed issues with collision for hardpoints and banks as well as mantling when jumping on staircases.
  • Fixed issue of not being able to tap and shoot Softball with Autosprint.
  • Fixed issue of Kraber shooting through bubble shields.
  • Fixed incorrect Pilot character sometimes showing in lobby on first game launch.
  • Fixed HUD ammo counter occasionally showing an incorrect amount when using the Devotion.
  • Fixed grapple not detaching if it was unsuccessfully trying to pull you downwards.
  • Fixed skin and camo arms not matching player camo when rodeoing
  • Various localization issues fixed.
  • Fixed Genned Factions not receiving Advocate Gifts - retroactively send any missed Advocate Gifts to affected users.
  • Fixed “New” indicator incorrectly staying on for the Banner and Patch menus.
  • PC Only - Various D3D bug and crash fixes
  • Fix melee hit detection to be more reliable.
  • Fixed issue with Titans not displaying loadout information properly.
  • Fixed bug where players could suicide with a cooked grenade and kill opponent without taking damage in Coliseum.
  • Fixed the grappling hook floating in the air if the grappled player dies. This also fixes some weird forward lunging after grapple melee.
  • Fixed grapple failing to detach from some objects the cord touched while you were grappling.

Patch Notes for Live Fire update

  • Live Fire: A new Pilot vs Pilot elimination game mode! It’s a 6v6 round-based with no respawns, you will have one minute to eliminate the opposing team in order to win the round. You can also win the round if your team is holding the neutral flag when the round timer ends. The team to win 5 rounds first wins the match.
  • New Live Fire Map - Meadow, a lush location with grassy lanes and rocky outcroppings that provide site lines for long engagements and sneaky routes for flanking. Also zip lines are back!
  • New Live Fire Map - Stacks, an industrial location of open areas that sandwich a dense center point framed by towering structures. The verticality encourages attacks from above and rushes from the outside lanes.
  • New Faction Leader animations! Faction Leaders now play a randomly selected animation during the beginning dropship animation.
  • New Audio for the DLC Commander Intros.
  • Added a new execution, "Late Hit". Deliver a flurry of Stim fueled punches that pummel your enemy to the ground .


  • Mixtape Matchmaking: A complete overhaul of our multiplayer matchmaking. This new feature will allow you to create your own “mixtape” of modes to your heart’s desire.
  • Gamepad: Custom Button Mapping (Pilot & Titan)
  • Gamepad: Crouch Button - "Hold to Crouch" Option ("Toggle" is still default)
  • Gamepad: ADS Button - "Toggle" Option ("Hold to ADS" is still default)
  • Controls: “Hold <use> to Rodeo” Option (“off” is still default)
  • Advanced Hud: Disable Party-Member Coloring on HUD (some colorblind players may prefer this)

  • Holo pilot decoy can now deploy on ziplines.
  • Holo pilot decoy is more resilient when stepping over things and colliding with walls at certain angles.
  • Holo pilot decoy is now visible in the threat scope and sonar grenade pings.
  • Holo pilot decoy no longer runs on top of dome shields.
  • Holo pilot decoy no longer crashes into the ceiling and dies when running through doorways.
  • Holo pilot decoy should be more resilient when started during wallruns.
  • Kraber can no longer be shot as a semi-automatic if the player presses the reload button at the same time as the fire button.
  • Titans that are invulnerable while performing executions will have their lifebars colored gold and flashing to communicate their invulnerability.
  • Added some out of bounds triggers and props to block off areas for Crashsite and Complex.
  • FOV is now saved per-user.
  • When switching weapons while editing a loadout, the game will now preserve your mod choices if possible.
  • Ronin now shows his sword in the loadout menus.
  • Credit purchasable items now show a credit symbol instead of a lock symbol.
  • Friends' names will now show up green in chatroom and in-game.
  • Prime Titans can now use Nose Arts.
  • Network Admins can send messages to the network in-game, rather than only through
  • Added extra text to make clear that Warpaints are not supported on Prime Titans.

  • Correctly grab the system voice permissions from Xbox and honor it in game.


  • Added Adaptive Supersampling. When enabled and running faster than the FPS target, the game will dynamically increase rendering resolution up to 2x the target resolution to improve AA quality. If the maximum supersampled resolution exceeds 16K in either dimension (e.g. when running at Eyefinity/Surround resolutions), this option will be unavailable.
  • Added Very High to the Model Quality tiers.
  • General stability improvements.
  • Added Model Draw Distance to allow pushing draw distances further out.
  • Added description for Triple Buffered in the VSync description text.
  • In an effort to reduce hitches from texture streaming, the "Texture Quality" setting has been renamed to "Texture Streaming Budget" to more accurately reflect the setting's function, and the tiers have been renamed to indicate the VRAM amount needed. A warning has also been added when the game detects that the chosen tier uses more memory than currently detected. The goal is to only use about ~75-80% of the VRAM when the game is running to avoid GPU memory management hitches.
  • Spun D3D texture creates off onto a dedicated thread to avoid driver stalls and added throttling to the number of textures that are made live by the streaming system every frame. The throttling mechanism is simplistic and can be improved, but we want to get this out earlier to see if we're on the right track in reducing texture streaming stutter before investing more engineering effort. If you were previously experiencing stutter, please provide feedback on whether stuttering has noticeably improved after this patch.
  • Adaptive Resolution FPS Target is no longer capped by max monitor refresh rate and instead caps to maximum supported FPS (144).
  • Improve VRAM detection accuracy.
  • Improved SLI/Crossfire compatibility. Players are recommended to not use TSAA when running in multi-GPU mode because TSAA can negatively affect performance scaling.
  • Improved frame rate stutter detection tools.
  • Enabling adaptive resolution while VSync is set to Double Buffered should now reliably force VSync to Triple Buffered.
  • The game now prevents the screensaver/lock screen from coming up due to idling while the game is running.
  • Added additional info to rare startup error "Failed to CreateGameWindow. Resolution Unsupported?" and a speculative fix for it.
  • Fixed adaptive res FPS target incorrectly resetting to 60.
  • Fixed texture streaming being disabled on GPUs with < 2GB of detected VRAM.
  • Fixed the game crashing on startup if a user has AMD GPU drivers installed, but is no longer using an AMD GPU as the primary adapter.
  • Fixed memory leak experienced on Crossfire setups.
  • Fixed various UI scaling issues when running in Eyefinity/Surround ultrawide resolution.
  • Added text clarifying "Invite friends" functionality doesn't work while the Origin overlay is disabled.

Live Fire

  • Adjusted Live Fire scoring priority so Kills now count higher than Flag Captures
  • You will now instantly steal the flag when executing an enemy flag carrier in Live Fire
  • Live Fire mode will now wait until all players have connected before starting the first round


  • Featured Mode Colony 24/7 Mix of Modes
  • Added Random Pilot Execution option. This will choose a random execution out of the ones you have unlocked.
  • Advocate Gifts will now default to rewarding random cosmetic items instead of credits. This should help players who primarily play one type of loadout get more cosmetic rewards

Coliseum Improvements

  • Added new introduction ceremony
  • Added 9 new victory animations
  • Player now automatically wins Coliseum match if opponent disconnects

Gameplay Fixes

A Glitch in the Frontier: The Patch Notes

Hey, here are the patch notes for the update coming later today, April 25th.



  • New Map: Glitch
  • New Live Fire Map: Deck
  • New Faction: M.R.V.N.
  • New Execution: Get to the Point [Pulse Blade]: Unlocks after getting 10 Pilot kills with the Pulse Blade. If you have already achieved the 10 kills it will unlock retroactively

New Featured Modes [we’ll be introducing these at different times in the near future]

  • Glitch 24/7: Get a feel for the new map by playing a variety of modes on just the Glitch map
  • Marked for Death: 6v6. One member of each team is Marked as targets and both teams must defend their target while trying to kill the other team’s target. Once one of the marked players are killed, the surviving Mark’s team is rewarded a point. After a few seconds, new Marks are chosen. First team to 10 kills wins.
  • Titan Brawl: Think of this as Team Deathmatch with just Titans. 5v5 mode with Titans only [no ejecting] and respawning. Each kill counts for 1 point and first team to 30 points wins.
  • Iron Last Titan Standing: It's the Last Titan Standing you know and love with a few new rules. 5v5 with no ejecting and no batteries.


  • Main Menu Update: We dressed things up a bit with new background videos, updates, and tiles with rad stuff we think you should check out
  • Increase Pilot Gen to 100
  • Added Live Fire mode to Private Match options
  • You can now choose between regular, Prime, or random for executions for Titans if you own the Prime Titan


  • Game will now emit a sound when it is going to connect you to a match. Our PC brethren will want to make sure to set Settings > Audio > Sound In Background to On to hear game sounds when the game is not focused. This is for all audio, including the matchmade sound
  • Fixes to address parties occasionally getting split up
  • Players that join late to a party making it too large for the current playlist will now cancel matchmaking
  • Fixed issue where you could not invite friends after starting a private match


  • The game will now remember Multiplayer as last played in Main Menu - no more accidentally selecting Single Player!
  • Removed sun flare for maps Colony, Exoplanet, Forwardbase Kodai
  • Gates, the 6/4 Faction Leader, now uses the campaign model



  • Titan Melee - Reduced area of effect for all Titans expect Ronin


  • Fixed a bug with Sword Block not always blocking the intended amount of incoming damage


  • Small reduction in Laser Shot’s cone angle

Arc Grenades

  • Arc Grenades now have only 1 charge
  • Arc Grenades recharge faster


  • Holopilots can now walk through the Amped Wall
  • Holopilots can now crouch walk


  • Made crosshair smaller so if you have a bead on an enemy you’ll more likely to deal high damage
  • Projectile width will increase quicker to improve consistency of damage in close quarters


  • Now need to be closer to deal max damage
  • Slightly Increased spread to compensate


  • Reduced the near and very far damage of the Amped Devotion

Charge Rifle

  • Small increase to its base damage


  • Reduced missile tracking speed. It will still continue to track targets, but not to the extreme amount it has been since the last patch


  • Crosshair dots no longer turn off when firing all assault rifles and SMGs
  • Fixed issue with the R101 where the reticle would disappear while cloaked


  • Added a 1st Half/2nd Half indicators to HUD for CTF
  • Fixed issue in CTF where the flag was unreturnable after being dropped by an enemy
  • Fixed a bug in CTF where the flag could be returned by dead players
  • Dropped flags will now drop more reliably in areas with low ceiling clearance


  • Hooked up the missing LTS VO line letting you know you’re the Last Titan Standing
  • Fixed an issue where players would see a black screen while waiting for players to connect. It now says “jumping to location” like other modes
  • Updated the player status HUD elements


  • Fixed issue with tracking rockets missing the dropship
  • Fix for Scorch Nitro nose art:
  • Scorch and Scorch Prime now have different nose art for the “Firebrand”
  • Scorch Prime will keep the same “Demons” nose art
  • Scorch now uses a slightly modified pre-order version of “Firebrand” that will also contain the “Demon” art
  • Fixed issue where the Blacksite Scorch Warpaint would not appear in first person
  • Fixed issue where Legion would spin and face opposite direction when performing his execution as an Auto Titan

NEW MODE: Frontier Defense!

  • Co-op 4 player mode.
  • Davis and Droz of the Last Resort faction will be guiding you through the waves. They are unique to Frontier Defense mode and your earned merits will still apply to whatever MP Faction you have selected.
  • Defend your Harvester against 5 waves of increasingly difficult enemies.
  • The Titan you pick at the start is locked for the rest of the match.
  • Earn cash for defeating enemies that you can spend in between waves to purchase tools at the Armory.
  • Choose from Easy / Regular / Hard / Master difficulty.
  • There will be an Insane difficulty as well that will exist in a separate tile as a Featured Mode.
  • New Titan Progression - ‘Aegis Ranks’
  • Earn Aegis Ranks by completing matches of Frontier Defense. Aegis Ranks can unlock powerful upgrades for your Titans, helping you succeed at higher difficulty levels. For now these Ranks will only apply to Frontier Defense.
  • 5 maps supported at launch

Long sight lines and tight quarters dictate the battle in this abandoned desert reservoir. The towering, sheer walls and a system of convenient zip lines provide Pilots with means to get around quickly while Titans do battle in the long corridors below. Pilots can also set up ambushes in the guts of this complex pipeworks, while titans can lock down large sections of the battlefield at critical junctures. Tread carefully.

A new modular construction of a residential firefight. Cover is sparse for Pilots bold enough to leave the safety of a few houses. Windows and rooftops decide who controls the map, but dense interiors can always hold surprises.


ELITE WEAPON WARPAINTS: Exclusive to Pilot weapons, these Warpaints grant the Squad Leader bonus: If you or any other player own one of these Warpaints, everyone on your team will be granted bonus XP. The effect doesn't stack, and you don't need to have the warpaint equipped to receive the bonus. Additionally, owners of the Warpaints will have a 10% chance of receiving a double XP token per owned weapon [up to 30%] at the end of every match.

Warpaint also includes an additional shoulder arm plate with scaling iconography based on hardest Frontier Defense difficulty completed with that titan. The Warpaint also grants a special call sign with scaling iconography based on the hardest Frontier Defense difficulty completed with that titan.

  • Scorch will now have 1 dash charge with a 10 second cooldown.

  • Wildfire Launcher now increases the direct-hit damage of the Thermite Launcher. It still increases the amount of fire spread.

  • Fixed a bug with Flame Core not igniting Incendiary Traps.


  • Legion will now have 1 dash charge with a 10 second cooldown.
  • Hidden Compartment: Power Shot has two charges and Power Shot damage is reduced by 15%.


  • XO-16 base magazine size increased to 40 rounds.
  • Reduced the strength of the slow effect of Energy Siphon.
  • Slightly reduced effectiveness of Arc Rounds against Vortex Shield and Heat Shield.
  • Multi-Target Missile System no longer locks onto cloaked targets.



  • Aim Assist settings have been modified for Assault Rifles and SMGs.
  • ARs and SMGs require you to be aiming closer to your target before any ADS assist takes effect.
  • Reduced the overall effectiveness of ADS assist for Assault Rifles.
  • Titan Hunter kit modified to be 10% extra Titan meter from damage instead of 10% Titan Meter on Titan Kill.

Phase Shift

  • Now has just 1 charge, but recharges faster.


  • Medium and long damage significantly reduced.
  • One of the positive changes we saw in the High TTK playlist was the increase of weapon diversity. It is our hope that between the Aim Assist nerf and this SMG nerf, we’ll see weapon diversity increased across all three platforms.


  • Reduced fire rate.


  • Reduced fire rate: In this particular instance, we felt that the reduced fire rate simply made the gun feel better since the gun stabilizes better between shots.


  • Slightly reduced damage at medium range. It still has the best medium range damage of any Assault Rifle.


  • No longer locks onto cloaked targets.

Smart Pistol

  • No longer locks onto cloaked targets.


  • High TTK playlist changes for the P2016, Wingman, Wingman Elite, and Mozambique have been brought over to bring their power level down now that all Pilots can carry a secondary weapon.


  • Lunge time and melee hit frames changed to .3 seconds from .2 seconds. This will help people firing weapons, particularly automatic weapons, get extra shots in before the lunge completes.
  • Melee lunge range reduced.
  • Non-lunge melee attack range increased. This will help with the cases where melee looks like it should hit but doesn’t connect with the target.


  • Various improvements to the UI for Private Match, including increased visibility of text chat on PC.


  • Fixed issues with purchasable Nose Arts not showing up correctly on Titans.
  • Spectators in Marked for Death can no longer be marked for death.
  • (Xbox One) Buttons and pod doors in War Games intro sequence now play at the correct volume.
  • Titan Nose Arts flagged as Advocate Gift unlocks may now actually be awarded when opening Advocate Gifts.

  • XO-16: Critical Hit now increases weak point damage by 50% from 25%.

Tone [Frontier Defense balance]
  • Signal Strength Upgrade now increases the duration of Sonar Pulse by 100% from 60%.

  • Frontier Defense: Fixed bug where player would get stuck on Titan selection screen if they joined a game late and got killed while transitioning from Titan screen to game.
  • Frontier Defense: Adjusted Stalkers pathing to reduce cases where they would go to unreachable areas of the map.
  • Fixed bug where a Monarch with Superior Chassis would have more Health than displayed.
  • Fixed a bug where a Titan that was undoomed with an Amped Battery would have less Health than displayed.
  • Fixed issue where Classic Frontier Defense music option was missing for consoles.

Patch Notes


This month patch notes is small, very small. But, it’s a few things that you guys asked for and we agreed with. This month’s patch notes are as follows.

  • All advocate gifts are now purchasable with credits
  • Upcoming featured modes: Nitro mixtape, Nitro FFA
  • Fixed an issue where cloaked enemies on look like they have a mosaic overlay instead of being cloaked when a player is embarked in a titan.

What about some of the changes from the previous patch? What was/is the mindset behind them?


In the last patch, we had a multitude of changes from Arc Grenades, RSPN 101/201 Weapons, pilot abilities and more. The idea behind these changes was to keep the game fresh by shaking up the meta.


The most notable change was to Grapple. This has been the most used tactical ability to the point that we felt it was causing players to not give the other tacticals much of a chance. With that, we decided to remove a charge on the grapple to bring it more inline with the other tacticals. We knew this change would be risky, but we wanted to evaluate if the impact of this change could encourage a more diverse meta versus playing it safe. We are continuing to monitor this change and will provide an update on it next month.


Now onto the change for the Mozambique and Wingman Elite pistols from secondaries to primaries. We saw a decent pool of players who enjoyed using these as primary weapons and hardly touched the actual primaries. Thus why these specific weapons were chosen. But because they would become primary, they would be under powered compared to the rest, thus why the buff them and to legitimize the users who do enjoy this style of play.


We’ll be continuing to watch player data and feedback so let us know what you think.
