How to add a Friend in TF2 who uses Steam? (I'm on Origin)

I have a TitanFall 2 client on Origin, my friend bought his on Steam.

How can we add each other? I thought about making a 'network' in TF2 as a workaround but....can we queue for games together if we did that...?
