downloaded sims 4 for free and now it won't update?

So I did the recent deal through Origin and got the sims for free and all went really well and I got super excited to play. Then I hit play and it would not let me play unless I updated the game, so I tried to update and nothing happened after several tries. On a Mac and yes, I checked for the "repair game" option but it is not there. Someone help?

Please run the Origin reset tool then try again.
