Hi,
So I've recently started playing Sims 3 again on my mac and just downloaded the 'Generations' expansion pack from Origin. It downloaded and installed fine but when I try to launch the game, I get the ''an unknown error occurred" message. I had the same issue before when I downloaded 'Ambitions', 'Late Night', and 'High-End Loft Stuff". Without having to uninstall and reinstall the game, I somehow managed to fix it the last few times but can't somehow remember how to do it this time. I know that these expansion packs aren't particularly suitable for newer Mac versions but I've managed to make it work before, so I'm sure it can work again.
I've looked at other youtube videos and forums where the fix is simply to do the copying and pasting method into all the transgraming folders which I've already done, however to no avail. I'm not particularly sure which one specifically I'm having a problem with. When I open the Sims 3 game through the icon, it opens up with the 'generations' icon (not sure if that's helpful). I'd like to fix this issue without having to uninstall and reinstall the entire game, only because it's extremely time-consuming considering that I have multiple expansion packs. Can someone please let me know whether there's any fix besides what I've already done?
Thanks,
Zi

@caprigorm You need to copy folders from Ambitions and Late Night into the folder for Generations. (High-End Loft Stuff should be fine.) This video shows you exactly how to do it:
