Re: The Sims 3 Unknown error in Mojave

@julliahtap  After installing Late Night, did you apply both workarounds?  Specifically, you needed to create an alias for Late Night (as you did for Ambitions), and you needed to move files from Ambitions into the folder for Late Night.  (This is the second workaround, from the video.)  If you did both, and you still can't launch, try bypassing the launcher.

If that doesn't help, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling Late Night only, instead of everything.  Be sure to try to launch the game after you uninstall LN; if it doesn't work, then yes, you'll need to do another clean uninstall before reinstalling.

Re: The Sims 3 Unknown error in Mojave

@julliahtap  Since your graphics card is supported, the reason you're getting the unknown error likely has to do with the packs you've installed.  There are several steps to fixing the error, and the workarounds need to be applied in the correct order, so I'll write out the whole process.  Feel free to pick up where you've left off.  But it's still easiest to start with a clean uninstall, or rather another one, just to make sure nothing else is getting in the way of your game.

https://bluebellflora.com/how-to-do-a-clean-uninstall-and-reinstall-on-a-mac/

Then install the base game only, and run the Super Patch (make sure you're using the digital download version).

https://bluebellflora.com/sims-3-manual-super-patch-for-mac-1-67/

Now try to launch the game.  If it works, you can start installing packs.  Four of them (Ambitions, Late Night, Fast Lane, and Outdoor Living) don't install properly, so you'll need to apply two workarounds.  The first is creating an alias, as you've already tried:

https://bluebellflora.com/sims-3-packs-not-showing-as-installed/

The second is to copy files from those four packs into the folder for your newest pack by the date EA released it.  This video shows you how to do it:

https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/CURRENT-ISSUE-Sims-3-Unknown-Error-in-El-Capitan-Sierra-High/...

If you can't run the patched base game, you can try bypassing the launcher.  It's a memory hog, and with only 4 GB RAM installed, you may not have enough to handle the transition between the launcher and the game itself.  Here's how to force the bypass:

https://bluebellflora.com/sims-3-how-to-bypass-the-launcher-on-a-mac/

Finally, if none of this helps, do another clean uninstall, then create a new admin user on your mac and install the game through that account.  Start in the same place—install the base game only, then run the Super Patch, then try to launch; if it doesn't work, try bypassing the launcher.

If you have questions about any of these steps, feel free to ask.  It would be helpful in that case to know which packs you'd like to install.

Thank you so much for taking some time to help!

Everything worked just fine, till i got to Late Night Expansion Pack. I tried doing everything i did for Ambitions and High-End Life but for Late Night specifically didn't work. Besides that everything i did that was working stopped working because of the Late Night Expansion issue and now i'm not sure how to proceed. Do i need the clean uninstall all over again? How can i make it work? I tried all links for help and still not working from this point.

Thank you!
