I just bought this game today as something to do because of my sims 3 game failing on me. I spent 20 dollars on this game and it's broken the day i buy it. I have a mac book pro retina display, and El Capitan software. When i open up the sims medieval, it prompts me for a serial code (that i already entered in origin and the sims website) and every time it says it's invalid. I've tried the thing where you change the date on your computer to 2011 and my game still refuses to work. I've tried adding dashes to the serial code too. It would be nice if someone could help me.

Unfortunately, as you can see from this thread, the Origin digital version of Sims Medieval isn't currently working. We are still waiting for EA to fix this bug. The disc version of the game works fine.

I tried to update it with the .tgz file but my Mac keeps saying that the patch can't be applied. However, Mac keeps changing the .tgz file to a .tar is that the problem?? I just want to play the medieval game I will worry about the pirate expansion later. Im uninstalling and re-installing it now hoping that might fix the problem.

I was so happy about the launcher actually working after using the downloadable patch. Now that error message after using the (correct) game code pops up "Activation Failed". And it's so frustrating. Idk what to do.
