Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Nothing yet.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? You launch the game.
What happens when the bug occurs? I launch the game and the EA and Maxis logo appear but when the Sims 4 logo shows up the application freezes and I have to force quit.
What do you expect to see? For me to be able to launch the game correctly and play it.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
I used to have cc but I've deleted all of it, i've deleted and reinstalled The Sims 4 and Origin, I disabled Origin in-game, checked for updates on The Sims 4, repaired the game, and updated my computer. Nothing has worked. The only thing that changed after I disabled Origin in-game is that we The Sims 4 logo appears, my pointer turns into the sims pointer and it seems like it's about to work and it crashes.
This problem arose after going cc shopping. I've heard that there can be files that are corrupt and cause your game to crash but I've deleted all of them and it's still unresponsive. Help!

I moved this to the mac forum as this sounds more like a tech (or mod) issue than a bug
Please try suggestion below (user files are usually not removed on reinstalling the game) and if that doesn't help, please post specs about your mac and os Version.
Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199
You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.
Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.
The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.
Good Luck

I don't work or have any association with EA. I give advice to the best of my knowledge and cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your computer/game.
Please only contact me via PM when asked to do so.
