Sims 4 Won't Open in Origin (Mac)

I can't get my game to launch! I had been playing the game earlier in the day and when I went to play it again it gave me an error

(Unable to start: Cannot start because required game data is missing or damaged. Please try reinstalling the game.) 

I tried reinstalling the game and even reinstalling Origin. I don't know what else to do. I do use custom content and I think there might be an issue with something I installed. I am using a MacBook. Please help!

please help here is what is happening to me. I open origin and go to my games and press play for sims 4. Then the sims icon pops up on my dock (I have a mac) and it jumps a few times then disappears. It does not open or show an error message. What do I do?
