Sims 4 Crashing while Saving

My Sims 4 game has crashed and went to the Mac home screen while trying to save. I took out my Mode folder thinking that was the problem and the game still crashed. So I took out my Saves folder and kept my mods folder in. I started up the game and made a new person and was able to save multiple times. I tried to put the original saved folder back in and when I tried to save it crashed. Obviously it seems like my saves file is corrupted I have a legacy family I would hate to lose. Any suggestions?

@Bluebellflora  I Will try this in the morning when I get off work. If this does not work I can just load my family to the gallery and they will automatically be saved their correct? I don’t mind starting over in a new neighborhood. I just don’t want to lose that family specifically.
