Sims 3 unknown error Mac

My Sims 3 was fine on my Mac until one day it wasn't. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, updated, everything. My game still just says "Unknown Error Occurred" and won't even open the Sims menu screen. Help??

@madyrowsey  I've split your comment into its own thread, since the other thread was a few years old and dealt with a completely different issue.

Please list the packs you own, and provide the specs of your Mac.  Here's how:

Since you've already uninstalled at least once, it's best to start with a clean uninstall of everything.  That way, you can test if the base game launches and go from there.  A simple uninstall won't delete the game's hidden library files; you'll need to remove them yourself.  Here's how:

Then install the base game only, no packs—if Origin lists the packs for download, cancel them.  Next, run the Super Patch to manually patch the game to 1.67.  The launcher won't do a thorough job of patching on its own, if you can even get it to load.

Now test the base game to see if it launches, and let me know.
