Re: [Mac] Sims cast weird shadows

★★ Guide

I don't know if this has to do with the shadows, but sometimes the whole lightning acts a bit weird. It was raining in San Myshuno and suddenly the puddles appeared much brighter, even though I moved the camera only a bit. (See screenshots.) Shouldn't there be some sort of transition? Nothing game-breaking of course, but posting just in case.

My specs:

Model: Macbook Pro (13 inch, 2017)
Operating System: macOS Mojave 10.14.1
Processor: 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MB

I have all packs installed except for Bowling Night Stuff, Fitness Stuff, My First Pet Stuff, and Get Famous.

Also, I don't know if this helps, but I've been playing with a Sim and her cat in an apartment in San Myshuno, and when she leaves to go to work I think she has been leaving behind a shadow in front of the elevator that's a sort of fuzzy black circular spot as well as that shadow bar.

I believe I got these before Get Famous; closer to when the new patch came out.

Yes, I also think the patch caused them.

★ Guide

Your picture shows the bar shadow effect perfectly. Indoors only, pets and people. Happens with no Mods in the game.
I just recently updated for the first time since before Seasons came out, so I got all the patches from June till now all at once. I have all expansions except Get Famous, all game packs except Vampires and Jungle Adventure and all but a handful of stuff packs.

I'm on an iMac running El Capitan (Retina 5K, late 2015)

3.3 GHz Intel Core i5

8 GB RAM

AMD Radeon R9 M395 2048 MB

I run my video settings all on High or Very High and would REALLY prefer not to do laptop mode. Thanks for the attention to this problem. Standard smile

I noticed it on my pets first and it must have been before Get Famous. But I think it was before the latest patch (the one with terrain tool), more likely the one prior to that.

No CC/mods. I also play on an iMac.
