My sims 3 launcher won’t open

So I just got a new IMac today and installed sims 3 along with all the expansion packs, but the launcher won’t load up. Could anyone help me please? Frown

Re: My sims 3 launcher won’t open

@marah0821  I'm guessing you're seeing an unknown error when you try to launch.  There are three fixes for the error, but depending on what you have for a graphics card, you may only need two of them.  Specifically, if you have an AMD card, you may not need to edit the .sgr files to force the game to recognize your card.  It would be helpful if you listed your imac's specs here, as described in the following post, just so we're on the same page:

The two fixes you will need are simpler than the .sgr edits.  First, you'll need to create an alias for each pack that doesn't already have one in Applications, alongside the alias for hte base game.  This is straightforward:

Second, you'll need to move some files around.  Certain packs—Ambitions, Late Night, Fast Lane, and Outdoor Living—don't install properly; they're also the ones that typically need the fix listed above.  You'll need to move files from these packs into the folder of your newest pack by release date.  This video shows you exactly what you need to do:
